By Fabian Owuor, Learning never stops.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, crypto enthusiasts and Web3 skeptics alike, I have an announcement to make that at the very least will keep (my Wi-Fi router working over time). I’VE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE LISK AFRICA BUILDERS BOOTCAMP 2025!
Already a solidity padawan, now I get to move to sensei, making contracts float, twist, turn and solve all sorts of community problems. If you thought my love for Web3 was just a passing phase—it's about to get BAD, BAD is what we are, it's what we do, we are in the business of buildingadao.
What This Means (Besides Me Bragging About It)
This isn’t just some regular bootcamp where you learn how to code “Hello, Blockchain” and call it a day. No, sir! This is THE bootcamp where I’ll be rubbing digital shoulders with the finest builders across Africa, all while attempting to summon smart contracts without accidentally deploying bugs that cost millions.
Over the next few months, I’ll be:
Going to the next phase of Solidity Development (which I hear is 50% programming, 30% debugging, and 20% crying into your keyboard).
Building decentralized applications (DApps) that will change my community—or at least confuse my friends when I explain them.
Engaging with fellow blockchain builders (read: forming alliances, making lifelong friends, and hopefully finding that solidity soulmate, to code with all day ).
And there is this project in my head, turning and twisting and, Middle to lower class families face a brunt, when we have an unwell family member, this usually wipes out most families. I have a solution that i hope the public will accept to make the whole process less draining financially, there is not much to do about the emotional drain!).
By the end of this bootcamp, I’ll have the skills to build decentralized solutions using just my mind, like telepathically, alright not at mind bending levels like that, it's about solutions that actually solve real problems. Imagine:
A DAO where people secure their income and can retire in under 3 years, make gen z retire early they give the older folk more pressure but with money in their pockets now. Ni kama movie.........
A blockchain-powered vehicle maintenance system carry that your mechanic in your pocket, if the car even coughs, stop by the road and you have your remote mechanic with you. May your mechanic be with you, when your German built car, starts having failed sensors from boot to bonnet.
A DeFi project that doesn’t look like financial wizardry to the average person (because, let’s be honest, even some of us in Web3 have no idea what’s happening half the time).
We really need to build community solutions, not just to better our own lives but those of the people around us, we have the opportunity in our lifetimes to change the African story, so that the future for our children is not to try and run away to Europe or Asia in small dangerous boats over the foreign seas but to have enough in their own countries to be able to make a life at home. The future affects the past, they will be a reflection of what we create for them. There will be late nights, Project Mocha has promised a continuous supply of coffee in large packets of freshly ground beans, have you heard that machine of theirs at an event, spins like Sufi Whirling (Sema) - an active meditation practiced by the Mevlevi Order of Sufism, where dervishes spin in circles to connect with the divine. This year will also see active avocadoes supply from as I like to call him Kevin, 1 million, as we help avocado farmers sell every single products, yote, stewing stablecoins with Steve from swypt, stablecoin to move people across africa, cross border manenos with the kotani team, stake something here, stake something there, and send it here and send it there, and all this soon to be stewed in a Lisk pot and many more blockchain recipes coming soon.
The plot just sickened, time to make it feel better again. The Lisk Africa Builders Bootcamp 2025 is about to make that happen, Na si, ndani.
