In 1934, Master Hongyi donated the Buddhist Yangzheng Yuan to the Minnan Buddhist College. At the ceremony, someone asked him, "You are a master admired by countless people. What makes you unique?"
The master replied without hesitation: "Yes."
"What is it?" the man asked.
The master said, "When I feel hungry, I go to eat; when I feel tired, I go to bed."
The man smiled and said, "What makes this different? Everyone eats when they are hungry, and goes to bed when they are tired. So, you are no different from everyone else?"

The master said, "Of course there is a difference."
"It makes no difference!" The man insisted on his point of view.
The master said: "Many people don't pay attention when they eat, and they think about other things from time to time; although they go to bed, their minds can't calm down. When they fall asleep, they are always dreaming, and even awakened by nightmares. I eat When I eat, I don’t think about anything, I never dream when I sleep, and of course I don’t have nightmares, so I sleep peacefully every time I go to bed. This is what makes me different.” The man pondered for a long time. , and said, "Then how did you do this?"

The master said: "Let go! Only when you let go is the most peaceful! Many people find it difficult to concentrate, because they are always in the midst of profit and loss, limited by flashy favors and humiliations, and have all kinds of delusions, they can't help but lose themselves and lose themselves. And when you see through fame, fortune, success or failure, you will be able to reach the state of being free from hindrance at all times and being at ease everywhere, and thus feel the true meaning of life.”

The man muttered to himself thoughtfully: "I seem to understand a little bit."
Let go of delusions and rest your mind; purify yourself and gain peace.
