Fam, our first blog post in 2023!! Wish you all a very happy new year and we are very excited for what’s coming this year!
We take this opportunity to thank our node hosts (validators, relayers, full node hosts & others), creators, collectors, collaborators, partners and builders building on top of OmniFlix. Details about the roadmap and all that’s in store in 2023 will be released in the next few weeks.
In 2021, we had a series of testnets i.e. FlixNet-1, FlixNet-2 and FlixNet-3 that were launched with incentivized testnet campaigns before the launch of the OmniFlix Hub in Feb, 2022.
FlixNet-1 was mostly getting the testnet in place with the validators and getting the core consensus codebase in place. Thanks to team Notional, Jack, Zaki and others it was a successful testnet with 900+ validators and ended with 771+ validators securing the network for 8 days.
FlixNet-2 had the first-ever implementation of the oNFT module a fork of the irisnet standard and very similar to the ics721 standard of native NFTs. There was no marketplace but the testnet had 200+ collections and 400+ NFTs minted during an incentivized campaign.
FlixNet-3 had the first-ever implementation of the marketplace module for NFTs. NFTs on FlixNet-3 could be minted by independent creators and also listed for sale in the native FLIX token or an IBC token. FlixNet-3 testnet was connected via IBC to the StreamPay testnet secured by the SPAY token & and the Juno Network’s Uni testnet, secured by the JUNOX token. Over 27,000 NFTs were minted with 15,000+ being listed and traded in the native FLIX and other IBC tokens.
FlixNet-4 testnet started before the OmniFlix Hub mainnet in Feb, 2022 but the incentivized campaign was released in the month of October 2022 and had the first ever implementation of on-chain auctions for oNFTs on the OmniFlix Hub. This campaign had participation from over 16,000 accounts that tested the auctions module on the blockchain and auctions on apps such as OmniFlix Studio and OmniFlix Market.
To recognize the contribution of the community, we are releasing a series of NFTs to campaign participants who completed all tasks and activities. These NFTs can be burned for FLIX when the token goes live. We will share more information on the claiming process in a future article after the token launch.

NFT drops for Validators that validated at least 1000 blocks on each testnet will be processed in the next few weeks. Snapshot for FlixNet-4 validators is already completed.
