OmniFlix Network - Community Update #45

Fam, this was a week with our heads down focused on getting the upgrade ready for release. Without further ado, let’s get to all the updates from last week and the focus for this week, within the Flixverse!

1] Engineering

  • The focus for the last week was primarily around the updates to the infrastructure along with the latest release on the testnet.

  • Since the apps are all updated and the release is now in place, all focus is for the next upgrade with auctions and other security updates in place.

  • Efforts on CosmWasm continue with StreamSwap and general research into CosmWasm and utility within the OmniFlix Hub.

  • Application engineering and Infrastructure teams focused on working with the design team to update the UX of OmniFlix Market.

  • The application engineering team worked on the video player within OmniFlix Studio. This will significantly improve player aesthetics and also in future will enable playing of interactive videos in full screen mode.

2] Design & Media Updates

a) Product Design

  • This week’s focus was primarily around the revamp of the OmniFlix Market app taking feedback from the community, not just for auctions but the entire app in general.

  • This week, we also have focused on the collateral required for community awareness of OmniFlix Network (Hub/blockchain, dApps, etc.).

b) Media

  • Creatives about OmniFlix Apps will be going live post by post this week. The goal behind the creatives is to bring out the USPs behind our apps - easy to use, smooth interface and fast publishing.

  • Team will also be publishing byte sized content on social handles so that members of the community can enjoy ELI5 type discussions about the NFT Media focused features and infrastructure being built at OmniFlix.

3] Governance

Below are governance proposals that were voted on by the OmniFlix Network validator as a part of the operations while validating the below chains/networks.

4] Community Updates

4.1) OmniFlix TV

a) #InTheStudio ep. 26 POAP

#InTheStudio is a creator space, held every Friday with the creator community of OmniFlix Network. Participants of the space are eligible to claim a proof of attendance NFT by answering a secret phase announced during the space.

b) Flix Quest (10 - 17 Nov) is live!

Every Thursday Flix Fanatics conduct a FlixQuest which is live throughout the week. This week’s theme was about the easiest steps to buying NFTs on OmniFlix Market using tokens you have on exchanges like Binance.

c) Seilor Crew Member NFT

4.2) Activities by Flix Fanatics

  • Creator AMAs - Our Creator AMA last week featured @GoblinFrenzNFT, creator of Goblin Frenz and Spider Humans, two PFP NFT Collections on OmniFlix Market. You can check out the discussion between him and Flix Fanatics team to learn more about his journey in exploring and building NFT collections in Web3, some alpha for Goblin Frenz NFT holders and a giveaway open to all the AMA participants.

  • FlixTalk #44 & #InTheStudio ep 26 were all about discussing upgrades and features that are in the works for OmniFlix Apps, New Collections on OmniFlix Market and some insightful discussions with our Creators about new activities/campaigns they are planning to grow their community.

  • Discover new collections, hear from our Creators and learn how they are using OmniFlix Apps to build their community on #InTheStudio space (every Friday, 2pm UTC). Catch the latest updates about what the Flix Crew is building on FlixTalk (every Wednesday, 2pm UTC).

  • The FlixVerse (7 - 14 Nov) activity focused on OmniFlix inSync - one dashboard for Cosmonauts to stake and participate in governance. Winning participants are awarded NFTs minted on OmniFlix Market.

  • Flix Quiz #25 - Last week’s quiz for the community on 13th Nov some interesting questions about Seilor NFT & #InTheStudio POAP NFT interactive video campaign on OmniFlix TV, existing and upcoming features on OmniFlix Apps and few questions on FAQs about OmniFlix Market. Two winners and two participants chosen at random were rewarded NFTs from OmniFlix Market.

5] Collections on OmniFlix.Market

5.1) Upcoming Collections

a) Songs of Eden - To be released

A much-awaited collection post our announcement at Cosmoverse 2022, @SongsOfEden is bringing musical PFP NFT on OmniFlix Market. The artwork in this collection is created by using piano as a brush, this way users will be able to hear and keep the Music file with the PFP file they collect.

b) IBC Game Vol 2 Special Releases - To be released

Volume 2 of Interplanetary Battle Cards, a pvp trading card game is crafted from a Flixverse perspective. The lore and storyline focuses on many key ideas that arise in the OmniFlix ecosystem.

In September/October, @Ns_JNR ran a Swap & Drop Campaign for all OG holders. These drops gave participants the first preview of the Vol 2 / Gen 2 card format and style.

There are new utility mechanics for Vol 2 as well as loads of special / collaboration edition NFTs. Overall, the distribution of Battle Cards NFTs will be as follows.

  • Normal Battle Cards - Most Common

  • Normal Utility Cards - Common

  • Special Release Btl/Utl Cards - Rare

  • Collaboration Btl/Utl Cards - Rare

  • Cosmic Cards - Super Rare

5.2) Recently Launched

a) Clans of Cosmos - Released

After the success of their previous collection - Cosmo Capes, the team has launched a new limited edition, 8K high definition, 1:1 NFT Collection bringing different clans to the Cosmos universe. In this collection, each clan represents a project and has its own unique set of characters.

b) POSTHUMAN Governance NFTs - Released

PostHuman Validator NFTs were dropped last week to their delegators on Juno Network. There are six tiers in the NFTs - Common, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Brilliant, based on the delegation weight.

Focus for the current week

1) Protocol Engineering

  • The protocol engineering teams are focused on the release of the auctions listing type as a part of the marketplace module.

  • The CosmWasm team is focused on the simulation for StreamSwap. Efforts around the same continue.

2) Application Engineering

  • The application engineering team is focused on updating the OmniFlix Market app and is looking to introduce various features like filtering for prices in USD, curating campaigns with listings from specific collections and/or USD price during an event (Thanksgiving, Black Friday or even Cyber Monday)

  • The application engineering team is focused on the setup of apps for various partners that are collaborating with the OmniFlix team for the setup of their specific apps.

3) Design

  • The team will update the design of OmniFlix Market in coordination with the application engineering team. This week, the team is also open to user research and feedback. Anyone reading this can ask on the general channel in the Discord group to participate in the User Survey for OmniFlix Market and the Flix Fanatics team will handle the same.

  • Team will be working on UX review and optimization of OmniFlix Apps, starting with OmniFlix TV. This will help improve the interactive video experience.

4) Media

  • We are focused on producing creatives for community awareness and partners.

  • Planning for an events pipeline with media production, ticketing infrastructure setup and in-event registration, live broadcasts and more.

5) Community
