Introducing Fuel Season 1 (FS-1) and Phase 2 Genesis Drop
Today marks the conclusion of Phase 2 and with it the Fuel Points Program. We want to thank all participants who helped bootstrap Ignition, and now turn our focus to building Fuel into a fully integrated liquidity hub. As we mark the end of the Fuel Points program, we are excited to unveil two initiatives: Phase 2 of the Genesis Drop and the start of Fuel Season 1 (FS-1).Genesis Drop: Phase 2 - 150,000,000 FUEL1.5% of FUEL total supply.Rewards for participation in Phase 2 of the Points Progra...

Announcing Phase 2 of the Fuel Points Program
We are excited to announce the final phase in the Fuel Points Program, now live with Fuel Ignition. With Phase 2, you can continue earning points while supporting the growth of the Fuel ecosystem. With Phase 2 of Fuel Points, we’re ensuring that the network grows in a way that is positive sum for points program participants, the Fuel ecosystem projects and the broader Fuel community. Qualifying users can participate in the program, while earning rewards for meaningfully engaging with the ecos...

Sway: The Next-Generation Language for Smart Contracts
As blockchain applications become more complex, there is a strong need for safe and smart contract languages. Many platforms today rely on languages and virtual machines (VMs) that weren't originally designed to handle the unique constraints and requirements of blockchain execution. It’s no secret that the architectural decisions made in 2014 for Solidity and the EVM now show clear signs of age. Among these is their susceptibility to vulnerabilities that make writing secure Ethereum smar...

Today, we are excited to announce the launch of our public testnet on the Sepolia network. After years of research, we invite the web3 community to join us in shaping the future of Ethereum rollups.
This testnet release on Sepolia marks the final milestone in our journey towards Fuel mainnet. As the first fully upgradable long-lived testnet, Fuel Sepolia brings new capabilities to the Ethereum ecosystem, leveraging the power of our innovative rollup operating system (Rollup OS).
If you can dream it, you can build it on Fuel.
Fuel has been crafted as a purpose-built operating system for Ethereum rollups to overcome the limitations of current blockchain architectures. We've developed a system from scratch to cater to the unique needs of Ethereum rollups, which need to be modular, sustainable and highly scalable.
Since the launch of Fuel V1 in 2020, we've been tirelessly refining our architecture to meet the evolving demands of the Ethereum ecosystem.
With the release of Fuel Testnet on Sepolia, we're one step closer to realizing our vision of a Rollup OS that tackles the two most critical challenges in blockchain scalability: execution and state growth. Our rollup technology solves these problems without compromising the fundamental principles of verifiability and decentralization.
We will continue to build and optimize the Rollup OS and upgrade our testnet to mainnet in the coming months.
Fuel provides developers with the tools they need to build decentralized economies at scale. Our platform enhances the developer and user experience, bolsters security, and optimizes network performance through the following ways.
Fuel provides a suite of developer tools, including a version management system (fuelup), a comprehensive toolchain (the Fuel orchestrator or forc for short), and our blockchain-focused programming language (Sway) that inherits the best elements of Rust and Solidity to vastly reduce time to production.
Built from the ground up, Fuel has been able to bake in primitives that enable developers to build seamless user experiences using native account abstraction. With the current architecture, developers can build apps that abstract away gas or let the user use any wallet from any chain. Out of the box, we already support more than 400 Ethereum wallets.
Fuel's parallelized transaction execution enables seamless scaling to meet growing demands for transaction bandwidth. By processing transactions in parallel with defined state-access lists in the form of UTXOs, Fuel ensures optimal user experience without sacrificing performance.
As blockchain traffic increases, the rate of growth of the blockchain state increases, placing strain on full node hardware and putting the goal of healthy decentralization at risk. Fuel’s prunable UTXO-based design, ephemeral scripting capabilities, and integrated native assets make Fuel applications more efficient while maintaining full smart contract capabilities.
Fuel has made significant strides to prioritize light client support, which makes it more efficient for chains to introspect each other in the future, facilitating seamless data exchange at the block builder level. This interoperability allows Fuel chains to integrate with other chains securely and efficiently, creating a cohesive ecosystem of interconnected dapps.
Fuel's success is owed in large part to the vibrant community that surrounds us. Over 45 projects – fully on-chain order books and AMMs to NFT platforms and smart contract wallets – are already building within our ecosystem. We want to thank each member of our community, as well as our ecosystem projects and partners, for their contributions to our journey. We wouldn’t be here without you!
As we work toward our mainnet launch, we invite you to join us on our journey in solving the limitations of Ethereum rollups and explore endless possibilities with Fuel.
We invite developers to start building and experimenting with Fuel. This is an opportunity to build unique dApps, provide feedback, and contribute to the future of blockchain scalability. Your insights and innovations will play a crucial role in refining Fuel as we prepare for mainnet launch.
Get started with our Developer Quickstart Guide.
We look forward to seeing what you create and working together to push the boundaries of what’s possible in blockchain technology. Together, let’s build a sustainable and decentralized future.
Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to mainnet launch.
Happy building! 🔧
