My desk in autumn 🍁
I was talking with some friends recently about why I love seasons: seasons impact my awareness of how time passes. I enjoy how the constant change makes each month feel distinct. The weather impacts what I wear and eat and how I structure my day. Every season is a return to habits and traditions that I've missed.
Growing up in New England, my sister and I would excitedly pull out winter coats from vacuum sealed bags in November, search for tiny green sprouts in the snow in March, pick dandelions in July, and press autumn leaves in the pages of our heavy dictionary in October.
Now as an adult, I still do pretty much the same things. I also take so many photos of every little detail so my camera roll becomes a journal of the seasons year over year. :)
Most of these photos were taken in October 🍂
Reflections in my coffee
Almost every morning in October I pick up some leaves from the yard and press them in the pages of books and magazines.
Visiting one of my favorite farms in New Hampshire during peak foliage.
Gala apples are my favorite. I love how crispy and tart they are.
The most spectacular assortment of pumpkins in all shapes and colors
The farm store always feels so cozy inside.
I purchased this cookbook filled with pumpkin recipes and some fun pasta :)
There is a picnic area with benches and a water view next to the store.
I think apple cider donuts might be my favorite dessert.
Autumn in the kitchen
I love watching the leaves fall while I cook dinner. Every time the wind blows, the air is full of red, orange, and yellow leaves.
I've been making so many apple recipes lately with the apples we picked. This was the apple muffin recipe I used: https://peasandcrayons.com/apple-cinnamon-muffins/
I found these festive cupcake wrappers at JOANN Fabrics
Thank you for reading :)

I've been editing a new Paragraph post to share soon :) It will have lots of photos of what I've been cooking and baking, as well as some life updates. I'm very excited to publish it! It's been a lot of fun to share photos from every day life (food, the garden, writing) in a longer format. https://paragraph.xyz/@galazio/galazio-journal-11-22-2024 Here is a preview of the last post I made:
