Farconic is an onchain game on Base for Farcaster, based on the art of Yoni Alter’s renowned 'Shapes of Cities' series, which has garnered global attention and acclaim since 2016.

The game is designed to be a sustainable, long-term venture that is capable of constantly evolving. The idea is to lay a foundation on which anyone can build. The core of the game should serve as the building blocks for a myriad of possible gamifications - some of which we are already working on, and some of which we hope to see other Builders create in the future.
Our aim is to build an expanded onchain Monopoly-inspired game - a game of value-creation, resource management, property acquisition and social connections. We aim to bring a deeply strategic game to Farcaster, blending creativity with engaging gameplay.
We're currently at the later stages of development of the core features of our game - the first steps towards our vision.
The core revolves around collecting trading cards of 453 iconic Buildings to assemble sets and build 61 iconic Cities.
Our longer-term vision is achieved through features such as alliances based on Farcaster’s decentralized social graphs, revenue sharing for City holders, and more.
Farconic's Farcaster Frames are central to game - Frames are a medium we believe to be extremely important in the new onchain internet that is being built. We're pushing frames to their limit, as we want Farconic to be largely playable in-frame.
Farconic utilizes mint.club’s protocol and contracts, which allows us to create bond-curve backed NFTs - in other words, liquid NFTs. Mint.Club's community voted to award Farconic with a grant.
With the help of @gayatri, we have built and launched our 'Guess the City' trivia frame to raise awareness of the upcoming game. Check it out!

Yoni Alter's "Shapes of Cities" collection is a widely recognised and highly acclaimed body of work, featuring playful and imaginative interpretations of the world's most famous skylines.
Through the use of bright colors, bold lines, and geometric shapes, Yoni captures the essence of each City and its landmarks in a unique and captivating way.
This established and well-known collection's merchandise has been sold in prestigious institutions such as the Tate and MoMA, further solidifying its place in the art world.
The collection has been widely praised by art lovers, designers, and critics alike, and has been featured in numerous exhibitions, articles, and online platforms. Whether you're a fan of contemporary art, design, or simply appreciate unique takes on familiar subjects, Yoni Alter's "Shapes of Cities" collection is a must-see for anyone with an interest in the world of art and design.

Yoni Alter is a London based artist known for his playful and imaginative work that blurs the boundaries between art and design. He creates visually striking pieces that challenge viewers to look deeper and engage with their meaning, incorporating bright colors, bold lines, and geometric shapes to capture the essence of each subject.
Yoni has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the fashion and design industry, including Karl Lagerfeld and Hermes. He designed merchandise for prestigious institutions such as the Tate, the MoMA in Manhattan, the Metropolitan Opera House NYC, as well as in the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.
Yoni’s works have been featured in numerous exhibitions and public art installations, such as in Wembley Park and Canary Wharf, as well as in press features, including The Guardian, Phaidon, Campaign, The Atlantic, and My Modern Met.

We believe Farcaster represents a paradigm shift—a technology we've awaited since first getting into Crypto in 2013.
Frames are an amazing feature of Farcaster. Despite their current UI limitations, we are confident they’ll be a cornerstone of the online & onchain experience. Decentralized, onchain, in-feed apps are a very powerful tool.
Frames are mini apps embedded within social posts on Warpcast, the platform built on the Farcaster protocol. They enable bite-sized onchain experiences directly within users' feeds, eliminating the need to leave the site or deal with connecting your wallet to Dapps.
Frames simplify onchain internet use by integrating apps into social posts, making onchain actions seamless and accessible. This reduces the friction of adoption, as users interact with Frames without leaving their social environment. Since their launch, Frames have seen rapid growth, demonstrating their potential as builders create engaging mini-experiences that users enjoy effortlessly.
I'll end this post with some links and visuals. Thanks for reading!
