Making a living in the Metaverse
A few months ago, I had no idea I was writing a book about Web3. The world I come from is light years away from it. It is true that for a long time now I have had a professional bipolarity that made me go back and forth between the world of food exports and the world of alternative health care, a passion of my youth. Since then, I have pushed my ship to the edge of the galaxy of self-realisation.
In most cases, people live their first profession with their feet firmly planted in the material, and switch - often at the dawn of their forties - to a world they consider less material, more attentive to others. If I did a quick scan, it would be easy to judge that I have gone in the opposite direction, from helping and relieving patients to worshipping the golden calf. I am particularly amused by the idea that this is not in the logic of things.
The most important thing in his career path is to find fulfilment. The WAO* treatment technique I developed focuses on triggering the will to know oneself and to positively perceive the world around us. The Willpower-Action-Opportunity also applies to its creator, yours truly.
So I found the willpower to move on to another chapter than care, at a time when I was less attentive to others. Care, like all jobs done with passion, can't suffer from being too busy and unmotivated. This is what I felt a few months ago. How can you be a channel of beneficial energy when you no longer feel that energy? There are two options: continue to practice and rely on the income and the placebo effect or exploit another field of your skills. Fortunately, I never confined myself to a single exercise and I normally switched to the world of crypto-currencies and NFTs, which I had already liked for some time.
I discovered the world of cryptocurrency "by chance".
During the containment, I relied on my main business of exporting and distributing food products to try the adventure of selling on Amazon. I followed an influencer on Youtube who seemed quite credible and I went for it.
The Amazon tool available to the seller is not the most fun, far from it. I even hired a work-study student to help me with the task. After a few weeks she gave up and my Amazon business account was still not open. As the saying goes, "you're only as good as your own efforts" and after an intense campaign of emails and phone calls, I managed to open my account within 48 hours. The adventure began moderately well. No matter, I had awakened the American economic beast and it now had to be fed.
As Professor Marc Henri says, every problem has a small end and a big end. So I attacked mine by the big end, by choosing to sell perishable products on the Amazon platform. This required a lot of handling. The products had to be in conformity with the packaging as well as with the shipping. I chose the FBA (shipped by Amazon) option.
Once the goods were transferred to the Amazon warehouses, I was partly at ease, but the preliminary preparation of the pallets made me feel like Santa's elf. In the end, between the minimal margins due to the high commission taken by Amazon, the customer disputes that always make you feel bad, the numerous, even very numerous returns, this adventure turned out to be close to a misadventure.
See my book "choose to heal" available on the internet At the same time, without really trying to exploit a new vein, I discovered the world of crypto-currencies. I was very wary of this generic term because it represented for me the virtual world in all its abstract and borderline aspects. The famous bitcoin had left its mark on many minds with its exponential growth. However, in the collective unconscious, it remained a jungle where all the crooks and criminals on the planet could sell all kinds of illicit products. It remained above all a virtual token. It had no tangible equivalent and could not be exchanged for FIAT (fiat currencies such as the euro or the dollar). In other words, the consumer had no idea what it was for, other than to contribute to the delusions of geeks.
Today all this has changed. Bitcoin is accepted as an official currency in El Salvador, which is counting on this corner to gain some independence from the dollar. But it is not the only country trying to tap into the financial manna of crypto-currencies. Thailand, which has not been spared the wave of COVID 19 restrictions, is opening up to tourists with bitcoins to pay for their holidays in the former kingdom of Siam. A door is now open to new horizons offered by the Web3.
There will always be pro- and anti-crypto people, but isn't the same true for all issues, whether economic or societal? Forget about those who think cryptos are just another scam, a Ponzi scheme. So many pejorative terms to try to wrongly describe the incomprehensible fortune that emerges outside the classic buying and selling schemes. Let's leave jealousies and unfounded prejudices by the side of the digital road and move forward because the highway to success with NFTs is open to you.
