One of the reasons I'm going to Devconnect this year is to see whether crypto is actually being used in Buenos Aires. Some say Argentina has proven to be a real-world use case of a place, while I've also read that no one really uses it.
So Devconnect seems like the perfect time for everyone working in crypto to see how their products are being used, right?
I haven't been working on Girl Wallet nearly as much as I should have been, but with Devconnect coming up, I'd like to whole-heartedly give this concept a try.
Disclaimer: I hit "Publish" way earlier than I used to because I have the most amazing baby girl, and I want to give her as much attention as possible. So are there typos? Don’t care. Are my thoughts not as cohesive as they could be? Oh well. I wrote enough to consider it done, and that’s good enough for me.
I'm organizing a retreat experience for up to four women in Buenos Aires during Devconnect. Instead of retreating to your lonely hotel room, return to a home where you can relax from the business and busy-ness of all the events with just a few like-minded and equally chill women.
What's included in this experience:
🏡 a week-long stay in a house with bedrooms for everyone
🧑🏻💻 1-2 workshops based on your interests/needs (e.g. prompt engineering, using AI dev tools, best marketing practices, tokenomics...)
🍞 a stocked fridge plus a few home-cooked meals
👋🏻 2-3 intentional networking events, one of which is focused solely on getting to know industry folks in the local economy (invite only)
If you're interested in joining the retreat, you can apply here.
One of my goals during this experience is to test the Girl Wallet concept. I likely won't have a working MVP ready before Devconnect, but I want to test the two aspects of the app: a secure group chat and a multisig wallet.
A lot of planning is happening in the group chats for Devconnect. People are coordinating homestays, dinners, drinks, horseback riding, brunches...all of which cost money in some way, shape, or form.
First, I want to put together a Signal group chat of four other people (ideally the folks participating in the retreat).
We'll decide on what we want to do together, whether it's a brunch, dinner, museum visit, snack...whatever it is, we'll discuss it in the chat. We'll also agree on a budget and transaction threshold.
Then we'll decide which chain to use, spin up a Safe Wallet, and transfer funds as agreed upon.
Finally, we'll do the thing!
(Yes, it's all rather reminiscent of the beginnings of Girlfriend DAO in 2024.)
This is my reason for going to Devconnect. Will I see you there?
