This past Saturday, July 12, the Ethereum Eje Cafetero community joined the Road to Devconnect event series with a very special gathering at Jardín Infinito, a traditional coffee farm nestled in the mountains of one of the world’s most biodiverse regions: Salento, Quindío. More than just an event, it was an immersive experience that blended nature, technology, community, and coffee.
The day began as attendees arrived at Jardín Infinito, a place that not only serves as the local community's headquarters, but also guards the so-called Treasures of the Infinite: iconic items from previous Devcons, such as the Devcon 7 torch from Thailand and the Ethereum LatAm logo that shined at Devcon 6 in Bogotá.

Guests were welcomed with a freshly brewed “cafesito,” grown and roasted on-site — a gesture that captures the soul of the place: technology rooted in the land.
The event started with a hike through Jardín Infinito’s nature reserve. The original plan was to reach the mountain’s summit, enjoy the view of the central Andes, plant trees and aromatic herbs, then return to the traditional farmhouse for talks and a coffee party.
But things took an unexpected — and better — turn.
Along the way, we explained how Jardín Infinito uses blockchain technology to protect the territory and develop a model of regenerative finance. Once at the top, we began planting as a DJ energized the atmosphere. The vibe was so powerful, we decided to stay up there.
Instead of a formal talk at the bottom of the hill, we went person by person, introducing what blockchain is, helping newcomers set up their first wallet, and registering their tree planting onchain via this app. Each person also learned about Devconnect Argentina and how this edition presents a unique opportunity for Latin America to showcase its full potential.

The activity at the mountain peak continued until sunset. Once it grew too dark, we returned to the farmhouse to enjoy food, drinks, and meaningful conversations. What was planted above began to grow below.
Every participant received a handmade t-shirt printed with the logo of La Ruta de la Chiva, an initiative by the LatAm Community Hub for Devconnect. Its goal is to trace and bring cultural products from across Latin America to Argentina as a living showcase of our diversity and creativity. (More info here)
