TL;DR
This blog is your guide to creating unforgettable experiences that empower your community and turn casual attendees into core contributors.
If you’re building in Web3, don’t just host events. Craft experiences.
Web3 isn’t just about protocols and products. It’s about people. People want to feel something, not just attend something.
➞ Empower your community
➞ Build emotional connection
➞ Convert attention into advocacy
➞ And yes, have fun while you’re at it
If your “community strategy” is hosting a workshop right at the event start, serving food mid talk, and not allowing anyone to eat until everyone is done speaking and the food is cold, then we have got to talk. By the way, I have seen this exact thing happen. I actually tapped out and decided I’d never attend an event like this again.
An event is what happens.
An experience is how it makes people feel.
You can host a workshop. Or you can create a moment where someone meets a future co-founder. Big difference.
Think less: “panel with a sad cheese tray,” more “sunset hike followed by a hot seat founder dinner that leads to a signed term sheet.”
Web3 is trust-first. And trust? It’s built in real life.
You can’t tweet your way into people’s hearts forever. You need IRL (or thoughtfully designed URL) moments that create:
Emotional resonance
Shared memories
Inside jokes
Long-term loyalty
74% of people feel more positive about a company after attending an event (and that’s before the free merch).
Events shouldn’t be one-and-done. You’re not just “throwing an event”—you’re creating a growth loop.
We call it the Bow Tie Effect:
Ideation & Hype
Create buzz. Partner with cool people. Start the group chat.
Capture & Amplify
Your event is content. Period. Record the vibes. Capture testimonials. Get those videos.
After-Impact & Retention
Follow up. Say thank you. Send photos. Share alpha. Keep the loop going.
FOMO & Scarcity → “Only 25 spots left!”
Social Proof → Show who's coming. Make it the place to be.
Loss Aversion → “Don’t miss your chance…” works better than “Here’s what you get.
Peak-End Rule → Make the highlight and the closing unforgettable. That’s what people remember.
1. Small But Mighty: Dinners, Cold Plunges, Founder Circles
Perfect for trust-building and deep conversations.
Design tip: Add a physical component: yoga, surfing, even a lil' hike. The body remembers.
2. Cocktail Parties & Mixers
Casual. Chaotic. High conversion.
Design tip: Gamify it. Give people a reason to meet 5 new friends.
3. Summits & Conferences
Do you want public relations (media attention), investor interest, and marketing content — all at the same time, with one single action or event?
Design tip: Let people choose their adventure. Personalized tracks = engaged attendees.
4. Hacker Houses & Residencies
For builders who want to stay focused, no distractions, just meaningful work.
Design tip: Daily check-ins, side quests, and co-creation magic.
Events aren’t just for the community. They're powerful tools for internal alignment.
Build trust through in-person connection
Strengthen your team’s shared narrative
Celebrate collective wins and milestones
Your operations lead, your community manager, your designers — they all play a role.
Give your team the recognition and energy they deserve.
Oasis Onchain— tailor-made tracks, tropical vibes, alpha IRL.
House of Ink — deep-dive hacker house meets creative studio. Life-changing.
mCon.fun — the OG of vibes + value. Where it all started (For me at least).
Get to know your attendees before they arrive.
Don’t let tech overshadow the people.
Always have one peak moment and a memorable close.
Events = content. Film everything.
Don’t sleep on post-event follow-up. That’s where the magic compounds.
Need help throwing an event that feels different?
Let’s talk.
Your community (and your KPIs) will thank you.

We’re excited to introduce Vanessa, our new Operations Manager at Guava.
A multidisciplinary creative and systems strategist, Vanessa joins the team with a deep history of building programs, platforms, and partnerships across art, education, technology, and Web3.
She’s led initiatives to uplift community, sharpen infrastructure, and scale ideas that matter with a focus on equity, access, and intention.
Take 5 minutes at the end of your day to audit your energy.
Ask yourself:
→ What moments lit me up?
→ What drained me?
→ Who or what helped me feel connected?
What you notice in yourself, you can nurture in your community.

As you may know, Guava is an official media partner for ETH Cinco de Mayo, and we’re teaming up with our besties at Mantle and Odisea to throw a party kicking off Crypto Month in LATAM.
Will you be in Mexico City on May 2nd?
Still not signed up for ETH Cinco de Mayo? Don’t miss out, it’s free.
Do you have a project we should shout out next month? Hit us up.
Con amor y sazón,
