This essay is about what higher enables. It includes three stories about future use cases of what higher enables.
HIGHER expression brings dreams to life. While most people focus on downside risk and the world falling apart, HIGHER makes room for questions, invitations, and challenges, all at once. Heard all around the world, HIGHER amplifies inspiration.
Meet PixelSage, an artist in New York. They dream of hosting a gallery showcasing their last year’s work featuring paintings of whales. They post to a local crypto channel to verified community contributors who have enabled HIGHER projects in the past. Their message is simple, “Looking for a gallery to showcase my work” and a photo of a whale paintings. A neighbor replies that their church lobby is open the following Saturday, and a show comes together with visitors from all over town. Inspired by the show, the artist posts NFTs of their art on Farcaster, including a mintable of an unreleased piece. The piece mints out, enabling the artist to rent a gallery space the next weekend. By the end of the month, visitors are coming in from San Francisco, Tokyo, and New Delhi to see the next show. With the revenue and interest, they launch a hybrid digital and physical gallery called PixelGallery for their own work and monthly guest artists.
HIGHER action enables individuals without waiting for institutions to change. People around the world are able to create new friendships, jobs, and livelihoods. What would take an institution a year now can happen instantly. Financial funding for a farmer to add new crops, a school full of students gets new books, a town fixes up its park. The iteration time can be tens or hundreds of times faster that traditional systems. The limiting factor is the willingness to dream higher, and anyone can contribute.
STORY: Meet Sam, a high school student on the varsity swim team and a lifeguard at his local pool. One day the pool pump breaks, the pool closes, and he no longer has a place to practice or work. The town gets an estimate for the repairs at $250,000 that’s far beyond the town’s budget. Sam misses connecting with all his friends, and adults from around the community that enjoy swimming and diving. He learns about HIGHER from his friend who posts memes about school. He starts a fundraiser on HIGHER to raise the $250,000 to repair the pool. He creates a crypto game where players must race through an underwater course to earn prizes and raise money for the pool. His friend makes memes about animals swimming and offers mints. They inadvertently create a new memecoin called $POOL that soars to a market cap of $100M. They establish a DAO called “Pool School” that enables any town to file for funding to fix their pool. The DAO selects on pool each month to receive funding.
HIGHER education means blockchain knowledge leapfrogs directly from programmers to individual users. Without waiting for mainstream technology adoption cycles, small villages and towns around the world level up. These communities inspire each other to go higher, connecting across borders, language, and continents. Every interaction is powered by blockchain tech, delivering firsthand experience with cutting edge financial technologies. All driven by global networks that put real value on the opportunity to share, educate, and even discover new possibilities together. Diversity of thought becomes a rich foundation for going higher.
STORY: Meet Rajesh, a teacher in a remote village in Bangladesh. There’s an earthquake, most of the rudimentary buildings collapse, and government services quickly rush in to help with humanitarian aid like food and water. With their school collapsed, Rajesh’s students must instead travel an hour by foot to the nearest school. While the government is necessarily prioritizing basic health and food, something as important as consistent access to education falters. After of delays, he posts the ↑ symbol on Warpcast, writes a short essay about what’s happening with his students and a higher vision for them. DEGEN tips start to come in, funding a makeshift school building with bamboo and tin. This allows students to go to school, see their friends, process the traumatic event, and learn again. The students share their own stories on Warpcast, and day by day, the teacher is able to generate funds for further education. Remote teachers from around the world offer classes on any topic desired over video calls, including blockchain basics and programming skills. The whole village discovers the source of the funds and engages with the global community that has formed. The students are referred to as the “edu-chain” and go on to be leaders in their community and around the world. Where tragedy was possible, this became an example of higher inspiration and contribution.
Expression, action, education, and contribution.
