The sea of hydrangea flowers should be the best gift to us in May. I spent two years learning about the hydrangea plant. In February 2020, I started planting hydrangeas on my balcony. At that time, looking at the bare branches of several large POTS of hydrangeas, I could not understand the horticulturists who said that the buds were full and vibrant. By March, their terminal buds are opening, and their little new leaves are green and powerful. I began to feel the unstoppable power of nature. In April, the buds begin to form. The bud gradually expands and begins to show color in early May. The beauty of hydrangea reaches its peak in the middle of May. Even though I planted only a few potted plants, I was deeply impressed by their large, spherical flowers and tender petals. Next comes the post-June pruning, from which, with a little treatment, the cuttings can be turned into gardeners' delight, which means we can start growing a brand new hydrangea of our own. In autumn, it will be an important time for hydrangea's branches and leaves to grow. You may not think that they are already preparing for the next year's blooming. With their roots growing freely and their spring branches becoming woody, their first challenge is to prepare for the harsh winter and their dormancy. Then winter comes. In areas north of the Yangtze River Basin, the leaves of hydrangeas gradually turn yellow and fall off. For example, in my region of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and in the warmer regions south of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, gardeners will manually remove the old leaves of this year to expose all the bud spots hidden under the leaves. But don't worry, they're ready for the winter. I could not help thinking of the time when they first came to my house, when their branches were so bare and lifeless. But now I know I just need to leave it all to time and trust the unstoppable power of nature. If we need to experience a year, two years, or even more to understand a plant, then we need to explore our life and pursue an achievement, I think we must also need to go through the trough, to usher in the bright spring. Always have a friend joke: "Throw you anywhere will not starve." I always talk a lot when I'm talking about some novel project. Quickly adapt to the new environment, keenly aware of new knowledge, and then slowly and steadily absorb and transform, make it really belong to their own things, and then act bravely, not afraid of failure. This ability to learn by myself has served me well at every stage of my development. Learn to adapt to the role of mother, quickly master the skills of video shooting and editing, understand a we-media platform and discover its underlying mechanism, and absorb the conservation knowledge of various plants under different environmental conditions. In the face of my own unknown field, I will find a suitable way to step into the role and learn, summarize experience, transform it into my own knowledge, and get ready for the coming "spring moment". I have to say that reading is a very effective way for me to learn. At a time when I was only enthusiastic about becoming a gardener and had not had enough experience, I chose to sit down and read. The text is a wise summary of their own planting career. They unreservedly shared their experience in the maintenance of each kind of flower, which is their wealth after more than ten years or even a lifetime. Fortunately, we can easily experience the growth and changes of these plants in four seasons. Keen discovery, practical learning. It's true of gardening, it's true of parenting, it's true of the workplace, it's true of all aspects of life. When our goal is not clear, unclear, we need to be like the winter garden, keep saving energy for ourselves, ready to go. Because when spring comes, we're going to have a big opening. But I also know that the long winter waiting often makes people anxious and overwhelmed, but I always believe that in our life, there is light, is hope. In today's society, everything seems to be very fast, fast to express can send the goods to the hand the next day, fast to wechat, mail let us forget the mood when we received a postcard, but also fast to people gradually less and less contact with each other. Nowadays, we often forget the emotional connection and the transmission of the value of life. In my garden, on the other hand, everything is slow, the slow of going through the winter, the slow of gathering energy, the slow of regrowing after pruning the branches. The more anxious, the more unable to plant the pot of green leaves spread out, topped with soft coral pink flowers rose. This reminds me of my friend S, who is living as if she is out of this technological society. As far as I can remember, she always used a less advanced cell phone and always carried an umbrella, a water glass, a life-work planner and some other things we might not use anymore in her bag. I feel like she never even orders takeout. For special events, such as a friend's wedding, she would take out her old dress, dress it up with simple makeup and hair, and compliment her sisters on how stylish and beautiful they look. She is very responsible and busy with her work, but I still remember that she always gave me sincere advice and encouragement when I needed help and company several times. It was she who changed my vision of life and its values.
