Many Fijian children are barefoot. Unlike Australians who like to go barefoot, children in Fiji are barefoot because they are reluctant to wear slippers, and they run around school with their calloused feet. Our promotional videos are mainly placed in East Asia. Students in East Asian countries are well-behaved and honest. If the students we shoot are in a mess, then this promotional video can only have a 100% "dissuasion" effect on the target group. Considering these factors, we made it clear to the principal in advance that we want to show good classroom discipline in the video, and we want the East Asian parents who saw the video to believe that the children who come here can learn in an all-English environment. The real thing, so that they can safely send their children over. Simply put, it requires teachers and students to cooperate with us to "pose". In order to please the students, on the first day we bought ice cream, drinks and fruits from outside the school, and also rented a freezer to store these things. Hearing that there is delicious food without classes, the students are very happy to cooperate with our w

ork.
Our original plan was to produce a 2.5-minute video with math, science, biology and physical education lessons for the government, which was also posted on our company's website. Before filming the video, my friends and I turned into temporary teachers and came to the podium, facing a group of noisy children, from "the teacher must stand up when he comes, sit upright during class, and raise your hand when there is a problem" and other rules. Teach meticulously. After teaching the students, he showed the teacher how to write a beautiful blackboard, how to maintain classroom discipline, and how to show loving eyes. To put it bluntly, I actually want to show a Fiji version of the "East Asian Classroom". But in the authentic Fijian classroom, we encountered a "black door" as soon as we started shooting. When the class bell ended, the teacher did not come, nor did the students. The principal who was with us was proud and said cheerfully, "Don't panic, it's Fiji time." The photographer stamped his feet in a hurry. For almost an entire afternoon of rehearsal, except for one success in rugby class, all shooting tasks including math, biology, and science classes failed. I tried several classes, and the effect was the same: the teacher in the video was barely able to be "serious" , but the students are either too rigid, staring at the blackboard in a daze; or too naughty, when they look up, they keep looking at the camera. In short, as viewers, we can easily see from the video that the students are not listening to the class carefully.
"How can a simple thing not work for them? Is it so difficult to pretend to listen to a 3-minute class?" While complaining, the colleagues instructed the "wearing" children to pay attention, but the next shooting , and replaced it with other students "wearing help". I turned the computer in one direction and let the students see themselves in the video. But they were all shy, and ran away at a glance, unable to pull them. We pretended to be angry, but no matter how we "teach" the group of children, they still responded with a smiley face, like a group of robots executing code and typing errors. But I suddenly felt that their group of "little robots" were more like the most genuine elves. "What if we didn't follow the pattern we set, but filmed them as they really were?" I blurted out. "Then what's the use of filming them?" "Let's see the effect first!" We asked the principal to take them to the playground, and quietly installed a camera in a corner of the classroom, which was almost a covert filming. They went back to the classroom and resumed the science class. We and the principal were at the door of the classroom listening to the sounds inside: the "squeaky" sound of the desks and chairs as if they were about to fall apart, the sudden shouting, the loud talking... The classroom was like It's a boiling pot. Good guy, if you are in the country, this is an out-and-out "cattle class".
