I’ve taken the time to look back and reflect on the past three years of working, traveling and becoming a dad and also just life and what I believe to be some of the rules that govern it and these are 27 things that I’ve experienced and learned to have deep truth and/ or value so far.
I think that by sharing these, maybe we can learn from each other, so I would love to hear your life lessons too!
1. Be real with yourself
2. Learn to love yourself unconditionally
3. If you’re afraid to fall, you’ll never jump — accept your fear and work with it, not against
4. Open your eyes, dare to change perspective
5. When you believe you can, only then will others believe it
6. Never force things, learn to feel the wave and ride it accordingly — balance ratio and gut feelings
7. Appreciate what you have, but never settle
8. No wondering “what if”
9. Don’t lay all your eggs in one basket
10. Be self conscious about who you are in relation to the group of people you are interacting with — make sure it aligns with who you want to be / are
11. Don’t act in high emotion
12. It’s way harder to destabilize when you’re moving. The faster you move, the harder to destabilize, depending on your confidence, but if you destabilize in movement, the fall hurts more
13. You are the ONLY one with all the elements, always make your OWN decisions no matter how easy it is sometimes to just go with what other people say, even a close relative who means best
14. You don’t owe the world a thing and the world doesn’t owe you a thing
15. There is a lot more strength in confident vulnerability than in blind confidence
16. Win win situations are always the goal
17. Always ask questions because someone will have the answer
18. Never be afraid to walk alone, because fundamentally we all are
19. People will always judge you and they almost never will care about the circumstances
20. Don’t assume anything
21. You can only learn from a mistake if you admit you made it. These kind of mistakes and how you deal with them define you. The more interesting the mistake, the more interesting the life (so don’t be afraid of making them)
22. Moments that matter are the intimate deep moments that refuse diverted attention
23. Always speak your truth if you are certain it is exactly that at that point in time for it is the one thing that binds us as humans and few things are more important than real connection
24. Negative energy slows you down, in all circumstances
25. life isn’t serious, only if you make it — you are responsible for the fun in your life
26. Focus on the things you are “response-able” for, accept what you cannot change
27. Attitude + perception = (your) reality
If you think there’s important ones missing, I would love to hear them!
