In contemporary times, an experienced politician was once inquired about how they maintained their position of favor for an extended period. Their response was, "By enduring slights and humbly expressing regret for them." There are those who consider the ability to exact revenge as a mark of greatness, but being consumed by anger is a far cry from being considered great, as it doesn't even allow for personal freedom. Though some may derive pleasure from the act of revenge, the very concept is inhumane, even if it is perceived as honorable. In essence, "Virtue is impenetrable, and revenge is simply a sign of vulnerability."
