I’ve been thinking a lot about how Paragraph could lean into its unique position and really unlock new ways for writers and readers to connect. Right now, most publishing platforms reward the act of publishing itself, but not the ongoing cycle of reading, engaging, and sharing. Here are few ideas on how Paragraph could nail this experience:
Paragraph should optimize for the reader equally as well, it can introduce :
Reader streaks: reward readers for daily/weekly engagement streaks with badges + tipping multipliers.
Levels & leaderboards: track top readers, writers, and remixers each week, with recognition + extra tipping pools.
Discovery is another piece that could be way more playful.
What if every post had its own tiny “summary trailer”: a one or two-sentence hook that gives a preview of what this piece will be about, paired with the title and cover image, almost like a Netflix title card, making browsing feel like flipping through previews of worlds to dive into?
Add to that the option of turning posts into audiobooks, so readers can listen while they’re commuting or cooking, and you’ve expanded how and where people engage.
On the writer’s side, consistency and quality should be celebrated.
Something like a “Writer’s Club” that rewards consistent publishing and highlights the top engaged posts of the week, similar to how Farcaster does weekly rewards, could build momentum.
Pair that with Paragraph posting a spotlight on the single best post each week,
There should be stronger mechanisms to bridge beyond crypto and technical content into the mainstream.
It would also be powerful to nudge creators toward new kinds of content that pushes beyond crypto and tech. Topics like self-help, film and media analysis, short stories, health and wellness, etc, can be encouraged more, this way more non crypto folks have a reason to come on paragraph to read/engage more. By rewarding these kinds of posts, you encourage sharing into non-crypto circles and start bridging into broader audiences.
Add in easy cross-platform sharing mechanisms such as images to share for instagram stories/post, twitter, linked in etc
And lastly, another fun way for writers to earn and readers to support is passive tipping powered by Noice. Imagine if every action a reader takes, opening a post, reading it through, dropping a comment, liking, or even remixing, could trigger a little flow of value back to the creator.
All of this adds up to a platform where reading and writing feels dynamic, rewarding, and fun.Hope to see some of these implemented!
