What you need to run MetaTail EarlyBird
An Android 9+ based smart phone with "decent" location services.
Ideally chrome browser
Metamask installed and our Test-Network configured (see below)
When using MetaTrail you can acquire property and content rights in the Metaverse. In the real world you have trusted legal instances that provide the needed framework to enforce your rights. In the Metaverse though, none of them will enforce your rights. Therefore a “new” technology has been established in the digital world to provide similar long lasting trust and rights. That is cryptographic blockchain technology combined with decentralized consensus algorithm. Providing an interaction protocol that is enforcing ownership rights and many more. Best of breed for these kind of blockchain applications is Ethereum. To interact in a secure manner between the MetaTrail application and the Ethereum blockchain we use a wallet application like MetaMask to handle all the encryption and account securing topics. Furthermore for the EarlyBird phase of MetaTrail we use our own blockchain test network. Meaning you don’t need any “real” crypto currency to use MetaTrail EarlyBird. We encourage you to use MetaMask as it works best with our test network.
**1. Install MetaMask if not yet installed **
2. Follow the MetaMask setup steps
"Get started"
"Create a new wallet" (account) and "Agree"
“Create password” and check “Remember me”
go through the steps “Secure your wallet” and write down your recovery seed phrase
or if MetaMask is already installed create a new account by
open the MetaMask menu
select current account dropdown
press “Create new account”
3. Optional account rename step
Rename the created “Account 1” to “MetaTrail 1” by selecting the account name for 2 seconds. This way you can easy recognize which account is for MetaTrail usage.
4. Setup our CryptNG test network
open the MetaMask menu
select “Settings”
select “Network”
press “Add network”
select tab “Custom Networks”
Fill out the network information and press “Add”
Network Name: MetaTrail Network RPC-URL: https://testnet.cryptng.com:8545
Chain-ID: 1337 Symbol: CETH
After adding the network you should now have on the MetaMask main screen under the word Wallet “MetaTrail Network” and “MetaTrail 1” as current selected account.
Make sure that you are always on the MetaTrail Network when using the app and the account.
Close the MetaMask app and reopen MetaMask again. Upon login with your password also activate the “Remember me”switch if not yet activated. Otherwise the MetaTrail app won’t be able to create blockchain transactions seamlessly.
5. Get Some Funds
Send your account address to one of our communications channels (see below) and we will provide you with some test currency which you need to use the main features of the MetaTrail app. Either provide your exact account hexadecimal address or the QR code of your account. In MetaMask you can press “Receive” and it shows you the QR code you can send as a screenshot or “Copy” the actual hexadecimal address number of your account and send by Twitter to https://twitter.com/CryptNg
6. With chrome browser go to https://metatrail.app
7. In the app permit location services
8. Connect the app with your blockchain account in MetaMask
Press the connect button on the top right.
Click “Connect” with “WalletConnect” provider.
choose MetaMask to open the link.
If MetaMask is password locked unlock MetaMask with your password, select “Remember me”and connect from the MetaTrail app again.
Confirm the metatrail.app site connection in MetaMask by pressing “Connect”. Make sure you are on the MetaTrail Network.
9. Go back to the MetaTrail app
First back might lead to the intermediate wallet connect page. In this case press back once more.
The MetaTrail app might show wrong network. Just reload the app by swiping down.
10. Ready to Go
You should see now on the top right the short form of your account address and in the middle the option to claim a spot by creating a new cache.
If there is no transaction confirm in MetaMask, reload MetaMask and retry claim spot.
Usually it helps to reload the app and also reload the MetaMask app by swipe down in the MetaMask main screen
