• GBTC ETF malarky!

• On Vodafone becoming guardians of crypto.

• The not talked about rise of Social Fi.

• And the latest and greatest incoming crypto events and dates.

After a close 4 months in the red, the GBTC ETF turned green on May 3rd with a whopping $63 million in net inflows. The 6th of May was a bit lacklustre, with only $3.9 million hitting the table. And on May 8th, it all went to pot with $28.6 million running for the door.

So, while the headlines will have you thinking the GBTC ETF has turned a corner, they are wrong. But it’s early days, yet anything can happen (within reason).

Have you heard of Vodafone?

I know so. They have been thinking about blockchain for a while after launching their DAB network in 2023. And they are ready to take the next step into the cryptoverse.

The thoughtful buggers are going to integrate crypto wallets with sim cards. So there will be no need for a Solana phone, bag yourself a Vodafone sim, and you are set to transact.

They expect 5.6 billion people to use blockchain-based SIM wallets on their smartphones by 2030 (are they following Gary on X?).

AI, RWAs, and GameFi… but what about SocialFi?

A narrative not making headlines like the stars above–why not? I’m unsure, but the users are jumping aboard in droves (over 5 million active users) across all SocialFi platforms.

I recently onboarded myself to Warpcast, and it’s great! The communities are unique and diverse. It's an experience full of colour, and it lacks the hate you experience on Web 2 platforms.

Have you fallen into the ‘nouns’ rabbit hole yet? I’m still not out.

The UI is smart, like X, but for crypto natives. The frames feature looks super interesting, and I look forward to exploring it over the next few days.

• May 15: The US is anticipated to release the April Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, a vital inflation metric that may influence crypto prices.

• May 23: The SEC is expected to respond to VanEck's application for a spot Ethereum ETF.

May is known as a rocky month. Steady your ship, stay devoid of emotions and wait it out. The calm waters are on the horizon. Now is the time to do nothing or to dig deep and buy up those dips. Whatever you do this merry May, don’t sell into fear.
