IYK Enables Digi-physical Creation for Brands from adidas to Atlantic Records, with $16.8M fundraise…
The Current LandscapeIdentifying and rewarding fans is vital for a brand’s ability to build community and deliver ongoing value. Unfortunately, bridging the gap between digital and IRL (in real life) audiences is severely limited today. One of the earliest inspirations for IYK came after VÉRITÉ, an independent musician, told us that attendance data for her shows was held hostage by ticketing providers. Lack of access to consumer information is an issue that expands beyond the world of music a...
FOUNDATIONS: Introducing Support for KONG
This is the third installment in FOUNDATIONS, a multi-part series exploring emerging principles in the digi-physical space. As discussed in our previous post on the Pull Model, we first linked ERC721s to physical items back in July 2021. Since then, we’ve seen many brands adopt the Pull Model, solidifying the belief that an item should remain linked to its digital counterpart in perpetuity. To date, the chips we’ve used rely on a symmetric key when generating a message for every tap. From the...

Transforming Music Merch With Beams
Merch is a core element of the artist-fan relationship. And with the technology we’ve built, that connection now has the potential to be more dynamic and intimate, creating value for all parties. By bringing merch online, we’re able to transform a garment into a portal for immersive digital experiences. As a result, fans can teleport into carefully crafted worlds created by artists. At the same time, artists gain the ability to choreograph the fan experience. Checking into a show with officia...

This is the second installment in FOUNDATIONS, a multi-part series exploring emerging principles in the digi-physical space.
In our first installment of FOUNDATIONS, we introduced the Pull Model for modeling possession of an item.
The Pull Model originated from our belief that having a digital proxy for possession is a powerful concept for brands. The ability to identify and engage with the holder of a specific physical item unlocks an unprecedented segmentation capability that will power next-generation rewards programs.
This vision is already coming to life.
The drops we’ve powered for gmoney, VÉRITÉ, and the Cryptoon Goonz have demonstrated how the Pull Model can be leveraged to drive value in an authentic way. For example, the Goonz team raffled away a sneaker where the criteria for entry was claiming your item and signing up for SMS notifications.
Rewards through the linked token will only increase.
Meanwhile, we’re seeing a variety of use cases emerge for taps. 9dcc shirt owners are using their POAPs to record meeting people IRL, while VÉRITÉ crewneck owners are sharing Beams with their friends.
Since anyone can claim the linked NFT from a tap, we see the need for a stricter model of possession.
Today, we’re excited to announce the 2-Tap Claim flow.

Here’s how it works:
User must first tap to register their claim
User must then wait a preconfigured amount of time
After the waiting period has elapsed, User must tap a second time to finalize the claim
This design requires people to have sustained access to the item in order to claim the linked token. In other words, temporary access is no longer enough to claim.
The 2-Tap Claim model promotes truer possession of an item albeit at the cost of convenience.
There are a number of variables that impact the optimal period (e.g. item type), therefore we designed the waiting period to be configurable. We’re excited to see artists and brands experiment and tune the duration over time.
2-Tap Claim is live today and being used by Tyler Hobbs for his Certificates of Authenticity on both the iostream collection and Return One (Blue).

We’re excited to power more drops and activations using the 2-Tap Claim flow, and will continue to evolve the transfer behavior for digi-physical goods.
