More data won’t fix you, but they’ll make you know yourself better
I do not think I need to share everything. In fact, I think that I only need to share what I believe is comparable to others.

I’m writing as I lay in bed, after the last, long day at Farcon in LA.
This is the first time I visit LA, and Santa Monica, where I’m staying, is spectacular. It’s a true beauty to do any thing you want, really.

I lay in bed even though I was invited to some events in the night, but I’m too tired to do anything more than chill, read, watch some TV and go to bed early - the timezone difference with Italy really hit me hard.
But I’m happy. I made a lot of connections, and just enjoyed them. Just today, I attended some workshop at the Seed Club ‘FREE WIFI’ event to talk some business, and then I went to Pickle Pop to play in the Picklecon tournament hosted by Bracket.game (@tldr_x). We lost on the first round, but I still felt so good that it didn’t care.

I’m a competitive person, but in this case I just liked the competiiton: I didn’t use it to be rude with my teammates, that have been great, actually. I felt so connected, even though we never met each other. We just knew that we had one goal: to win. We got close, and that’s okay.
And then, as I chilled on a chair on 3rd Promenade St, I met @sheldon as he was looking to buy a powerbank at the Apple Store. He’s just so happy, he’s contagious.
And then, when I got to the hotel, I found @j4ck that was heading out for dinner and we talked a bit.
Little things, really. But they add up.
The best way of all these very little stories is that they have little to no relatonship with my work. I’m pretty sure 90% of the people I talked with didn’t know me as Head of Growth at Routescan, but many (many!) identified me as Jaack, the display name I have on Farcaster.

See, that’s the difference between Farcaster and X / Twitter: Farcaster fellows didn’t know me mainly for my job because I don’t just post things about my job on Farcaster. I post different things on different channels, and each channel gives away some details of me that I can’t really show on X, where everything is just on a single feed.
On Farcaster I talk about /music, /art, /fitness, mental health, wellness, running, tennis, photography, but also block explorers, EVM, blockchain, the OP Stack, base and much, much more. I talk about everything that I want to talk about, that I have an opinion about.
And this just gets me more to share what I am.
So the people on Farcaster know me for what I am, not for what I do.
This is the difference between Farcaster and X. And it’s what’s going to make a difference in the long run.
I have invested, am investing and will continue to invest heavily in Farcaster-related experiences onchain and offchain. And it’s only going to get better and better.
