I will tell you the one thing I think would make a dramatic difference in the number and severity of these incidents, and which would NOT require passing a single new gun law: prosecute the parents.
To be clear: the school shooter made violent threats with pictures of guns. The FBI referred this to the sheriff who interviewed the Dad, who had guns, & who claimed the kid did not have access to them.
