I made my first DAOpunk purchase on January 19th, 2022. After a few months posting on Discord and being unable to snag a punk, I finally was able to get one. It was my first NFT purchase and made me feel part of something…something fun and interesting.
But then time passed by, and my ideas simmered down into complacency; procrastination aided my relaxation and I happily settled into a passing Discord check-up now and again to drop a haiku or two.
This is not what I signed up for when I aped into being a DAOpunk
More and more as I dipped and dabbled across web3 spaces and projects, I retained this weight of incomplete action on my mind. It was as though I had left work undone and could not fully commit into other things until this was taken care of. What was it that got me tied into this damn DAOpunk idea in the first place?
And like I do often, I went back to read again the DAOpunk manifesto:

*Drudgery of default world work…find freedom…blaze trails…build bridges…*lead the way.
Perhaps that was it; those phrases seemed to reflect my current state of work and beckoned to an adventure of sorts. The web3 space is wild and largely uncharted; everyone is seeking something more - more money, more freedom, more options, more fun, more life - and the journey towards these is uncertain, carries risks, and promises nothing.
The opportunity to create more for myself is perhaps a temptation too tasty to ignore. I bit the fruit and now having left the garden of ignorance must pave my path, blaze a trail and build some bridge connecting my current self to the future DAOpunk I am not…
Whatever the hell DAOpunk means, this diary aims to figure it out.
You’re welcome.
