What is web3 becoming? What do we want it to be?

From my time in the space, I have witnessed the build up and creation of great communities; pooling resources and people together to contribute towards ideas of decentralized sovereignty - in finance, in art, in music, in work - and other areas of innovation and entrepreneurial endeavour.

At the same time, these very same tools for empowerment and inspiration have also turned into vehicles of greed and exploitation for profit and gains at the expense of others’ ignorance. More unsettling has been the vitriol of opposing viewpoints between chains, altcoin communities, NFT projects and even within DAO teams and communities.

But perhaps the good, bad and ugly bring the balance that reflects the true nature of the space, as well as the characters of us exploring and learning as we build and create.

I see that it building the systems with the tools we have, we must in the process surpass the limitations they place on us, in thought, feeling and action. Similarly, as I write, my intention is to grow and rise above the patterns of thought that keep me from excelling.
