Introduction
For our UX/UI bootcamp project, which was about redesigning an app, I chose the Binance app. The goal is to analyze and improve the app through a heuristic approach.
So, here we go. After analyzing the Binance app, I found that the overall view of the main dashboard is a bit confusing, making it difficult to understand and navigate, especially for new, enthusiastic users. Therefore, my mantra was “Simple & Stupid”, with the goal of clarity throughout my redesign.
Analyzing the current Binance dashboard
Let's take a look at the current Binance dashboard. I'll take you step by step through what I've realized and point out.

The current setup shows that the dashboard is cluttered with numerous features. What caught my attention at this point was mainly the way the different cryptocurrencies were presented, which makes it difficult for new users to understand what is displayed there.

The app currently only shows ticker names, which is problematic because with more than 2.4 million different cryptocurrencies, it's almost impossible to know all the ticker names.
Another thing I noticed is that the customization section takes up about 20% of the app's viewport. In my opinion, this is too much; customization is good, but what I strive for in my design is clarity. Users should be able to open the app and immediately recognize all the “important” metrics.
Also, the header looks a bit confusing as it's not entirely clear what each element does and I want to reduce that.

And finally, the community and news section.
My understanding is that Binance is a trading app, so it should focus on the important aspects of trading. Information is important, but turning the app into a kind of Instagram is beyond the scope for me.

Changes in My Design

In my design, I changed the customization feature to a wallet overview page, which gives users a clear overview of their portfolios, which tokens they currently hold, and if you swipe, you can see how your overall portfolio is performing.
I've also changed the way cryptocurrencies are displayed; we now have not only the ticker name, but also the full name and a logo of the coin to recognize it more quickly. As I said before, information and news are important, so the app now has a banner feature that pushes the user to read the latest news from Binance.
As for the header, since it was previously filled with icons that no one understands, it has been reduced to the account/settings and notifications icons. When a new notification appears, a yellow dot is displayed.
Last but not least, I have combined futures and trades. Both are summarised under the umbrella of trading. At the top centre of the navigation bar, I have placed a yellow button to add several options that can be customized for advanced users.
Conclusion
