So, here I am, finally stepping up to the plate and starting to write. Honestly, I've never written a blog post or an article before, even though I've been itching to do it for quite some time. To me, it feels like a good way to share my thoughts, meet new people, and dump out some of the ideas crowding my head. Plus, I'm hoping it'll be a good chance to connect with people, which isn't always my strong suit.
But above all, I see this as a chance to keep track of my journey. I'm hoping others can learn from what I'm going through, plus I'll be able to look back and see how far I've come.
As the title suggests, I'm a new dev in my 30s, about six months into a fresh dev gig. My path to get here could fill a whole other post so I'll leave that for another one. Before this, I had some basic web dev skills and I worked with MikroC (a kind of C for PIC microcontrollers) during my engineering degree. So, while I had some basic knowledge before this role, I definitely wouldn't say I was overly experienced.
I reckon there are loads of you who can relate to that, and maybe you're thinking about dipping your toes into tech too. Hopefully by sharing my experiences, past and future, I can give you a bit of motivation to jump in. Who knows where this journey will take me? But it's the not knowing that really gets me buzzing. Tech is moving so fast, especially with AI and Blockchain, and it gives me a kick to think about being part of whatever's coming next.
There wasn't a whole lot to this post, just something to get me started and to get the ball rolling.
My journey through life as a dev, artist and crypto enthusiast. I don't know where this will go.
