👋 Hi, I’m Sky and welcome to my edition. I am continually learning by sharing #Crypto #NFT #Metaverse and anything else that’s extending about my work. Send me your questions and in return, I’ll happily offer actionable advice.
It has been almost three months since I joined as a senior manager, Metaverse community. Here is a look back at my transition from entrepreneur to metaverse community builder. And my reflection on supporting Metaverse creators and engaging with the community.
1️⃣ What is my background?
From Financial consultant to Venture builder, I started off my early career as a financial consultant helping clients achieve their financial goals but later made a move into venture building figuring new s-curves out and focused on addressing product-market-fit, team building, and growth hacking. Afterward, I transitioned into Corporate Innovation focused on transformation education and corporate innovation adoption. During that time, I started to recognize that Blockchain plays a crucial role as cutting-edge technology to unlock the next stage of corporate innovation.
2️⃣ How did I become interested in Blockchain?
About three years ago, when I was living in San Francisco, I first became interested in blockchain. The use of Digital currency was widespread. It caught the attention of other crypto enthusiasts and myself, even though there were a few merchants accepting Bitcoin. Blockchain and Web3 came on my radar again through my design thinking workshop as my attendees started brainstorming how to apply tokennomic and digital twin with their real estate projects. I began setting up my wallet and evangelizing crypto regularly. dApp was surprisingly my entryway into the crypto banking system. Uniswap was one of the initial Defi projects I looked into. From there, I started learning more about GasToken and The blockchain trilemma and was amazed at just the beginning.
3️⃣ What is Metaverse community manager role?
In the early days of product development and joining the team, there was no one to tell you what to do. At the venture building, we are entrepreneurs. Throughout my eight years of experience, Metaverse is unique and will become a community-led growth. As a senior manager, metaverse community. A community-first orientation is crucial because the community will be a key measure of product success and the best advocate. My role is to ensure the community needs are taken care of.
Here are steps that helped me get the job done.
Define actionable goals and measurable results – It will be difficult for the team to get to the desired destination without a clear definition of the destination.
Build a dedicated community team – In order to promote growth and foster a sense of community, it is crucial to be lean, agile, and supportive of team empowerment.
Start with a rapid execution plan and allow testing – It's crucial to equip the team with authorization to take an experiment and pivot ideas to learn more about identifying community needs.
4️⃣ Approach the Metaverse community
The market for Metaverse is underserved and diversified. Here are my lessons from driving growth in the community.
Educate IP owners and brands – Promoting collaboration and using Metaverse, it is essential to educate IP owners and brands about blockchain technology. We help with experimenting with different types of uses for the Metaverse platform and building the protocol’s ecosystem through strategic allies.
Supporting NFT and Metaverse creators – Being a part of a community extends the value of the blockchain and Metaverse by giving creators support and the ability to learn and develop around their interests and core competencies. We aim to achieve this goal by cooperating with accredited educational institutes and career opportunities through organizing workshops, contests, and talent scouting.
