For the last few months, many articles from prestigious news sources have been calling the end of NFTs. Little did they knew, the hottest NFT collection release was about to happen.
It started with Kevin Rose and his podcast PROOF, that essentially talks about NFTs and future collections. Eventually, he released 1000 PROOF Collective passes in a dutch auction that ended selling out for 1 ETH (I tried getting one for 1 ETH and my transaction failed). The current floor price for this pass is at 83 ETH, making it a very successful NFT project (And a huge mistake on my part for not getting one).
The owners of these passes were allowed to mint 2 Moonbirds, while the rest had to participate in a raffle to get in the allow-list in order to mint for 2.5 ETH. A very controversial mint price, where we usually see mint prices ranging from 0.02 to 0.5 at the most. Kevin Rose and his team have defended this by getting this revenue (around 75 million dollars) they will treat is as VC funding for their company, and they will be working on generating value for Moonbirds and PROOF collective pass owners for the next decade.
Only time will tell if this project will become the most successful NFT project of all time. I am definitely excited about it.
