Making Paragraph even better? Bet… now watch me do it my way.
So, I actually already made a Remix from a related post, which was my first article:
5 Stages of Grief: Remix on Paragraph
That piece was basically me reacting to this feature with a "5 Stages of Grief" framework. Then why am I calling this one Irrational Exuberance?
Well, as the title says, this article is me hyping Remix to the max… Full optimism, full euphoria, but this time from a creator’s perspective. An over-optimistic narrative meant to lure creators into using the feature massively and frequently.
So is this just me acting like a buzzer to promote Remix? Yes. But don’t underestimate it… I’ll break down the potential gains from the most human angle possible.
Because in the end, everything only makes sense once it’s actually used. This little hype piece is my way of nudging creators to test Remix out themselves. Who knows, maybe this feature is bold enough to “kill” Medium or Substack? Pftt…
If you’re a new writer (obviously me included) trying your luck by making Paragraph your “main publication account,” Remix is a godsend.
All you have to do is pick a post with high engagement and hit Remix. Basically, you’re “tagging along” with successful creators, ride their wave, and some of their success spills onto you too.
It gives your work instant exposure, spreading your ideas to new readers in a domino effect. The original author wins too, since their post gets more reach, which can trigger even more creativity. Classic win-win, right?
That actually happened to me with my first Remix. Don’t believe me? Check the popularity stats, then look at this account. I’m a nobody, yet I still caught some spillover attention just from hitting Remix.
Of course, quality still matters. Don’t Remix just for clout, add some real weight to it.
Yeah yeah, everyone already knows this: publish something, you earn Coins. The same applies to Remix.
You Remix → it gets published → you get paid.
What more do you want me to explain here? Pretty straightforward, right?
Remixing was designed to fight back against the internet culture of shallow dunks and empty hot takes. Instead of rewarding cheap shots or speed-driven content, Remix nudges creators to build deeper, more nuanced conversations.
You can respond to an idea by adding context, constructive critique, or even branching it into a completely new direction.
If you’re the type who enjoys Quora-style discussions, this is your playground.
This one’s funny to me. Web3 is still in its early stages, but the hype of “Let’s contribute!” or “Be an early adopter!” mixed with the indirect rewards of fame, creates a unique culture where people here basically have a wet dream of being The Contributor.
So how does Remix fit into this?
Simple: every time you Remix an idea, your footprint sticks. Your thoughts get immortalized.
Even as an ordinary creator, you still play a role in pushing this industry toward unthinkable levels of adoption.
Ideas challenge other ideas. Or ideas strengthen other ideas.
If yours is strong? Congrats… You just opened up another potential gain: collaboration.
Let’s say a group is planning a promising project. If you’ve critiqued, researched, or supported it with arguments through Remix, you might get invited to join. That’s not delusion, that’s just how collaboration works: only possible if your message lands well. And Remix makes that possible.
Honestly, for daily/weekly news accounts, this point might not hit as much… news already gives you endless material.
But if you’re a “freestyle” creator like me, Remix is a lifesaver when you hit writer’s block.
What, you gonna keep relying on your double-shot Americano for inspiration?
Instead, scroll through Paragraph, read a few posts, and if something sparks your brain… Boom, hit Remix and pour your thoughts.
Even in cases where you don’t Remix, the feature itself motivates you to read more, which in turn sparks fresh ideas.
Go back and read all the points. They’re all creator-centered. Money. Fame. Influence… You can get it all from just this one feature.
Isn’t that human nature? I’d say yes.
And when Remix is widely used, let Paragraph itself decide the verdict. This post is just noise to get people pressing that button.
And no, I’m not on Paragraph’s payroll. I’m just here because the prize is juicy. But my real point? I want Remixing to be driven by tribe culture, not just prize hunting.
Was I over-hating or sarcastic with Paragraph’s innovation? Nope. I actually love this feature. But in the end, time will tell.
So here I am, trying to speed up that “time” by creating an over-optimistic narrative.
