Tiny Bytes: RSA
tldr RSA works by exploiting the fact we can’t easily factor 2 large prime numbers and group theory to make a trapdoor permutation, aka a function that turns x into y but y can’t easily be turned into x without a secret. However, implementing RSA gets tricky because there’s lots of subtle attacks.MathRSA takes advantage of the group Z^*_{n} (multiplicative group of integers modulo n). This is the non-negative integers less than n that have an inverse modulo n. 1 x 1 mod n = 1. 0 x int = 0 so ...

Hi again,
It's officially been 2 weeks of writing! LET US GO!
Like last week, I want to discuss how the week went and my feelings about it.
This week, I played around with a couple ideas.
First, I tried making my ideas shorter. By making the post's topic more focused and less grand, I could finish writing in that hour. I've also noticed that I'm getting a little better at being concise and having an easier time coming up with sentences that summarize topics better. I'm still overestimating how long different ideas will take. A good example showing improvement and overestimating is that post yesterday. I wanted to define security. The decision to narrow the focus meant I could define security and didn't leave a bunch of threads hanging. It still took a little over an hour to write the post, I didn't have time to edit, and I wanted to talk about why it is important.
Second, I played around with diving into a topic over multiple posts. This week I looked into making abortions private. This approach is definitely good when I want to research something -- basically, it turns into me taking notes on what I find. It also allows me to sleep on ideas and have my subconscious do some work. There is a bit of a startup lag when I need to remember what I wanted to do yesterday. I can also see myself being forced into a topic having the ability to harsh my mellow if I want to write about something else. Overall like it as an option to do.
I am mostly feeling good. I can feel myself getting more comfortable writing these. It makes me feel accomplished when I write something. I like the feeling of discovering new ideas while writing. I don't always know what to do with these ideas. Sometimes they fit the flow of the topic, and I can add them. Other times, they would make quality, unrelated stories, or I don't give myself enough space to add them to the post. (I should find a way to keep track).
The only negative is the time. Because I'm posting daily, I need to be extra mindful to find time to write. I nearly forgot the other day when I made the Haiku. Several nights, I wanted to play a game or spend time with Julianne but realized I needed to write. Even 1 hour can mess up timings. I feel like I should treat this like I do exercise. Try to get it done early if I see an opportunity. Pretend there's a gym closing time to ensure I don't procrastinate too late. And, in the evenings, when something more important comes up, find some way to at least do something.
Continue to keep trying to narrow down the topic
Find topics to do research on and treat those days as note days
Each week try to have at least 1 day where I explain something technical, and 1 day that is a movie/show review
Try to get writing done earlier in the day
Find a way to keep track of new ideas that spawn. Maybe even ideas I'm writing about in general
Good luck to me next week,
Lucas
