LXDAO is an R&D-focused DAO in Web3 ❤️
Website | Twitter | Telegram | Forum
Dear LXDAO community friends! Welcome to our 108th weekly report.
Ian: Hi everyone, I'm Ina. I am currently a freelancer mainly engaged in video-related work. I got involved with LXDAO because several friends are part of the LXDAO community and have organized a few events in our area. By participating in these events, I became a newcomer in the Web3 field.
Junhua: Hi everyone, I'm Junhua. I started exploring Web3 a few months ago and joined a training camp at Denglian through a friend's introduction. I just graduated last month. Currently, I am looking for work related to contracts while continuing my studies. I became aware of this community through participating in LXDAO's intensive co-learning English activities. My background is in backend data development.
Handuo: I'm Handuo. My background is in multimedia and experimental video, coming from the contemporary art field. I started my Web3 venture in early 2022 with a co-creation science fiction project. During the co-creation process, we encountered issues with revenue distribution for the works, which led us to start a venture and establish a platform and protocol for co-creation content distribution. For the past two and a half years, I have been deeply involved in the Web3 field, especially with the Arweave ecosystem. If anyone is interested, feel free to chat with me. I got to know LXDAO through a friend's introduction and am delighted to meet everyone.
We are delighted to have new friends join the community, congratulations on them officially becoming members of the LXDAO community and obtaining their first Badge!
Once a community member’s contribution reaches 500 contribution points, the Governance Group will automatically initiate a proposal for the issuance of a Buidler Card. Holding an LXDAO Buidler Card grants the holder the right to propose and vote on proposals, as well as access to LXDAO community’s financial, technical, and manpower support!
We cordially invite you to participate in the LXDAO’s weekly meeting at 2:00 a.m. (UTC) every Saturday.
Click here to join the weekly meeting:https://forum.lxdao.io/c/governance/community-call/22
Here, you can grasp the latest progress of various projects and working groups in the community, and learn about recruitment and bounty needs. Meanwhile, we welcome you to introduce yourself in the weekly meeting, which will help you integrate into our community more quickly.
Here are the key discussion topic for this week's LXDAO weekly meeting:
Looking for "Web3 + Rural Revitalization" Partners
Yuxing has posted information about the "Enlightenment Plan" on the forum. The "Enlightenment Plan" is the second initiative launched by the Nantang LX group to explore local life through Web3. It aims to promote interaction and exchange between rural builders from Professor Wen Tiejun's team and Web3 explorers. The plan includes six online exchange sessions and three offline research sessions, culminating in an expert symposium and the production of the "Exploration Report on Realizing Rural Revitalization through Web3". The "Enlightenment Plan" will officially launch with a Bilibili live broadcast on the 26th, themed "Why We Need to Explore Rural Construction + Web3". During this period, exchanges will take place in a WeChat group, and participants will be guided through Web3-related courses. The plan seeks participation from the LXDAO community and has already formed a WeChat group. Interested partners are welcome to join the discussions, participate in live broadcast preparations, and contribute to subsequent work. Participants can exchange their contribution time for Nantang work points. Interested parties should contact Yuxing.
Tristan's proposal outlines adjustments to the LXP proportion in the contribution incentives for LIP 49 in the LXDAO community, aiming to allocate more LXP for incentives. The proposal divides the incentives into two parts: fixed post POW overflow incentives and retrospective incentives for excess contributions.
Background: LXDAO adopts a POC incentive model to reward contributions based on consensus. Currently, the Fairsharing on-chain contribution registration mechanism is mature. Fixed posts use a registration rule based on time * hourly wage.
Fixed Post POW Overflow Incentives: Extra incentives are provided for work hours exceeding the quarterly budget for fixed posts. The primary method is intra-group balanced incentives using LXPU; the secondary method is supplementary LXP incentives.
Retrospective Incentives for Excess Contributions: Retrospective incentives are provided for POC-POW gaps in the Fairsharing contribution registration system. These are declared and reviewed during the quarterly strategic meetings, with incentives given in LXP.
Implementation:
Fixed Post POW Overflow Incentives: Incentives for contributions beyond the quarterly budget.
Retrospective Incentives for Excess Contributions: Retrospective incentives for POC-POW gaps.
This proposal aims to fill gaps in contribution registration and reasonably stimulate the enthusiasm of community members.
Launch of Web3 URL Intensive Co-learning
Initiated by LXDAO and ETHStorage, the "Web3 URL Intensive Co-learning" aims to explore the future of the Web3 computing world and promote the development of Web3 users. Based on the previous experiences of "Ethereum Intensive Co-learning" and "English Intensive Co-learning," this initiative plans to recruit 30 participants with the goal of producing 10 outstanding open-source projects (including Demos), which will belong to the team members. The proposal includes measures such as course task design, Badge + Grants incentives, and an automatic co-learning record form to create a self-driven learning community. After the co-learning ends, participants can continue to push forward specific projects without the need for operational staff, but there will be retrospective incentives for successful projects. Additionally, the proposal plans to jointly promote with Web3-related organizations and university blockchain associations and hold an offline meetup during EDCON 2024 in Japan. The proposal encourages community members to provide suggestions and expectations to jointly advance the exploration and practice of Web3.
Sustainable Open Source Research Program
Tiao posted on the forum inviting community members to participate in LXDAO's "Sustainable Open Source" research program. The goal is to design the LX Protocol, ensuring that open source contributors receive economic rewards while maintaining their enthusiasm and sense of belonging. The research will be conducted via GitHub, with all results and processes fully open. The ultimate goal is to produce a research report on "Sustainable Open Source," offering bounty incentives. The research will explore issues such as open source project revenue models, comparisons between open source foundations and DAOs, and the pros and cons of existing Web3 funding schemes. This proposal aims to enhance the economic and community sustainability of the open source community through open collaboration. Community members are welcome to participate and jointly advance open source research.
The latest member recruitment, task bounties, and partner talent recruitment at LXDAO will be presented on the Bounty Board. By following the Bounty Board, you can quickly access detailed job information, including specific requirements, desired qualifications, and incentive mechanisms.
