The year was pretty dumb, but not for Impossible Finance! As always, being short and precise, we’ll discuss:
How it works
Some statistics from 2021-2022
The best IDO platform?
Ready? Dive!
PART 1 – Impossible is possible! PART 2 – Main perks 2.1 – Extremely low entry level 2.2 – ATH ROI & TGE 2.3 – Great ROI performance 2.4 – Multi-chain 2.5 – Buy-back Protection Program PART 3 – Statistics speaks for itself 3.1 – Setup 3.2 – Results PART 4 – Conclusion
Probably most of you are already aware what Impossible Finance is. Or, at least, heard about that. For the rests – quick introduction:
Experienced crypto dudes can skip following explanation and jump into the next part.
IF, which is an abbreviation of Impossible Finance, is “the go-to crypto investment platform for anyone that’s looking for high-quality, fair and accessible crypto opportunities”.
And I’d really like to underline “the go-to”!
But what does it actually mean? IF provides you with possibility to invest in various crypto projects on its early stage. It’s called IDO (Initial Decentralized Offering). Long story short – you buy tokens among the firsts at quite juicy price. The principles of how IDO is carried out can vary, in generally – lottery type, whitelisted type, staking type or even combined ones.
It’s worthy mentioning that IF is not the only one IDO platform. There are many of them. So what is so special about IF? Impossible Finance is impossibly friendly – no matter what your budget is, you’ll always be able to participate. The principle is as easy as it can be:
Buy $IDIA —> Stake $IDIA —> Wait for some specific period of time —> Buy new projects’ tokens
($IDIA is platform’s token btw)
Okay, but how much should I invest in $IDIA tokens? Again, it’s all up to you. Your final allocation (max amount of tokens you’re eligible to purchase) is determined by the amount of $IDIA staked and by the time the tokens locked for staking. As more and longer you stake, as bigger allocation you get.
Wondering what the heck staking, blockchain and smart contract is? Check my previous article out to settle this down.
Let’s mention the specific aspects that made me choose IF in 2021 and use it until now as the main launchpad. I used Cryptorank.io as the main source of data.

IF ranks on the 5th place among 71 launchpads in respect to entry barrier. Particularly, you can start investing with IF having just 50$ or even less. However, it’s not so profitable to participate in IDO having less than this amount, since you have to pay some transaction & gas fees by locking, unlocking $IDIA and purchasing tokens (in other words – by interacting with the smart contract).
For newbies – ATH (All-time high), TGE (Token generation event / First listing of a token), ROI (Rate of return).

You could check this section and found that IF is not among best. But it’s not as simple as it looks like. Here are 2 important points:– IMHO, we shouldn’t consider those, which have 1-2 IDOs conducted. It’s not informative;– The thing that you MUST consider is amount of tokens distributed on TGE.Let’s talk a little bit more about the 2nd one. You should understand that most of (if not all of) these launchpads with 30x+ ATH ROI don’t provide 100% of the tokens you bought, immediately. In other words – there is always a vesting schedule (f.e. 10% on TGE following by 10% each month). As a result, this incredible performance is just shown in the statistics, not in your real profit (especially talking about 100x+).
The exactly opposite situation is with Impossible launchpad. As a rule – you get all 100% of the purchased tokens on TGE date (with some exceptions). Knowing that, let’s check its ATH ROI:

Around 25x – pretty good, isn’t it? That’s right, you could get such gains participating on this platform. In the next part, we’ll talk more specific about that.

Technically, IF takes the 5th place in relation to average ROI performance. However, IF takes the 1st place among launchpads with more than 10 IDOs conducted – it’s important to consider that. But let’s check it deeper to be more objective:

We can see that 8/14 projects are currently below the initial prices. So the 5th place was taken because of $SPRT and $GENE, which are still on fire.
FYI, $RUBY is listed already and its current price is lower than the IDO price, so I considered it too. The data is just not updated.
To sum up – this statistics gives us just a general idea and rough numbers. In order to evaluate the whole yearly performance, we’ll analyze some real examples in the next part.
Another important thing – Impossible Finance is not one chain launchpad. It supports projects among many existed chains. Examples: Blocto (Flow), Genopets (Solana), Fancy game (Ethereum), Aurigami (Aurora), Aura (Cosmos).
If we refer to Cryptorank, it shows only 2 supported chains. It’s wrong, as I mentioned.

However, here is one point to clarify – most of the time we get tokens on BNB Chain despite of an actual project’s main chain. The possible factors effecting that are: upon the TGE tokens are not launched on the main chain; IF can distribute tokens in the exact time avoiding negligence from a 3rd party; projects prefer IF to take care of tokens’ distribution. The main thing is – there’re tons of factors that we don’t know for sure. So it’s always upon project’s decision (not upon IF).
Let’s admit – not all IDOs are successful and profitable. That’s why Impossible team introduced one and only Buy-back Protection Program for some projects. After a particular date you can sell purchased tokens back at a specific price despite an actual market price. It protects you from losing most of the invested money, when you decide to hold tokens for a while.
It was extremely useful with OURO ($OGS). The initial price was $0.025 and current is $0.0007, which is 0.03x from the sale.

The program allowed you to sell all the tokens at $0.0125. Yes, you still lost half of the invested money, but it’s much better than losing 97%, right? People don’t have such option on another platforms.
Things are getting interesting in this part. We will compare two simple “no brain” strategies, which you could possibly use during this year, to estimate the total annual ROI.
Strategy #1 – Degens:
Degens don’t want to wait, estimate or predict the future prices, they sell everything 1 hour after listing.
Strategy #2 – Hodlers:
These guys pretend they’re not a paper-hand, that’s why they sell everything 2 weeks after the listing (real diamond-hand, lol).
Let’s image they missed first two IDOs, bought 800 $IDIA and participated in the rests. Roughly, the price was $0.8 per $IDIA, so they paid $640 each.
Please note, It’s very hard to calculate the exact allocation and ROI, since there were a lot of factors, which heavily affected the situations. Long story short, it includes delays in distribution of tokens, lack of liquidity during listings, delays in sending tokens between chains or into CEX, etc. That’s why I’ll use some average numbers based on my experience, which are still pretty informative.
Degens:

Hodlers:

Red numbers in “ROI” column means better gains comparing to each other;
Gains (x) in “ROI” column were taken from the opening price on the chart;
Numbers in “Profit” column were rounded to exclude some fees;
10* – tokens were not distributed at the moment of ATH.
Hodlers have finally outperformed their competitive. Besides, both of them managed to get back the whole $640 invested in $IDIA and earn more. Still, nobody stole their $IDIA tokens, right? They can continue participate in the future IDOs. Who knows what gains they’ll get?
As for me, such kinds of strategies are not really effective. Putting aside analysing is not the best choice. They could definitely gain more by assessing each project and determining its potential. Too trite, but still – if you decide to participate in some kind of token sale, always DYOR (do your own research) before taking any decision.
I have to admit, there are launchpads with really great performance, such as Binance launchpad or DAO Maker. But it’s either impossible to take part in, either worthless without thousands of dollars. Let’s take a look at IF again:
Low entry level;
Great average ROI;
Multi-chain support;
Buy-back protection;
100% of tokens distributed on TGE.
In this article I’ve collected useful facts and statistics to give a general overview of the project. What to do with all these things – it’s up to you.
If you want to learn more about Impossible Finance and its ecosystem (which is much more than a single launchpad) check the “1 Year Review” from the official team.
I hope you find the review useful and informative. Wondering to get more stuff like that? Check the link below. See ya soon ❤
