Adega dos Passarinhos, or popularly known as “Birds Pub”, closed its doors after the search for a new owner failed.

It will be difficult to define the space, whether by taste, quality or even hygiene. Taken from the various comments that can be read on the internet, this one defines, now only in memory, the spaces:
"As for me, this is where you can eat the best bifanas in Setúbal. It's not fancy, it's not spacious, there's no parking, nor is it the cleanest, but the taste of the bifanas goes beyond all that. I highly recommend it."

Vítor Fidalgo, son of one of the partners of the emblematic establishment, the house that ‘sells the best bifanas in the city’ explains that it is “due to the advanced age of the four partners responsible for the space”, that “they consider they no longer have the conditions to continue”.
“It all happened very quickly. The remaining partner retired relatively recently and one of them has unfortunately passed away. For these reasons, they made this decision, which was the only alternative they could find so that the business from the 60s would not close permanently”, which ended up happening. ‘On the table’ was also the possibility of “family members taking over Adega dos Passarinhos, but no family wanted to do so”.
In addition to age, “the spread of Covid-19 also did not help with the continuation of the business”. “We, like many other houses in the city, also felt the effects of the pandemic, which led the partners to want to speed up the transfer. Where we had many tables, we now have just a few. We went from selling meals to exclusively selling sandwiches. With the issues of mandatory isolation and lay-off, we also ended up losing some employees”, said the son of one of those responsible.
The final details are unknown, but the result is known.
Setúbal, the people of Setúbal and visitors are now deprived of a "cultural space" where steaks, friends and stories from times gone by could come together.
At the date of the article, the Avenida 5 de Outubro Mural still remains, the memory of which this article intends to keep alive.
