Life and work
António Feijó (1859/1917). António Joaquim de Castro Feijó, was born in Ponte de Lima and died in Stockholm – Sweden. His work follows the Parnassian movement and from Symbolism to Decadentism.

The first of these two directions, the Parnassian, gives his poetic creation a great balance and formal purification combined with the search for effects of a formal nature.

However, António Feijó's poetry, as is generally the case with the poetry of his time, is still very close to a romantic involvement, which, in one of his first books, Transfigurations (1882), is felt in the way it comes to light. surface a sentimental expression marked, as its author intends, by the “influence of diverse philosophical beliefs since the pessimism of Schopenhauer and Leopardi”.
