Chefa, a ready-made food space, which arrived in Paço de Arcos in May 2021, with the concept of “home food”, tasty dishes, traditionally cooked and made with great care. The idea came from Maria do Rosário Domingos who, after a few decades working in Communication, decided to explore the world of restaurants.
He transferred all this know-how to this project, which opened its doors as a take-away, which also offered the possibility of eating in the space, in an informal environment, with high tables. A year later, the manager felt the need to change, largely due to the feedback she got from customers, who said they enjoyed eating there, as if it were a real restaurant.
Homemade food and unique products
With a very rich daily menu, the Chef's idea is that customers can find everything they need for a complete meal, from starters, to main dishes, desserts and drinks. “We want the customer to arrive at Chefa and be able to take or consume everything they need in a meal. We have a lot of cold cuts, cheeses, we have our savory snacks, homemade bread, natural juices, which we work with depending on the season, and our desserts. A complete meal, that’s really the concept”, says the owner.
In addition to the counter where the ready-made food is, there is an area that functions as a small market. Serving quality products is essential for Chefa, as is being careful with the ingredients used. “We don’t have pre-purchased broths, we make them from scratch, whether from fish, vegetables or seafood. Fresh cured sheep and goat cheeses cannot be purchased nearby, the wines we have here are not available in large supermarkets. It really is a differentiated offer in the area and we still manage to maintain a fair relationship between quality and price”, guarantees the person in charge.
