The Amêijoa lighthouse came into operation in 1909, near Moinho da Amêijoa, 3 km from Outão.
The lighthouse of Outão and the lighthouse of Amêijoa gave the heading of the mouth of the River Sado. Initially it was equipped with a 5th order catadioptric diopter optic and had fixed red light. The structure was an iron hut, painted white, movable along rails, 3.5 meters high. It was visible in a sector of about 15º (approximately 7.5º to each side of the thread) and had a luminous range of 14 miles. Due to the silting up of the bar, the light sometimes had to be moved to another hut that was off the rails.
On February 14, 1951 it was extinguished.

The alignment of the Sado bar had then been carried out by the lighthouse of Doca (previous) and the lighthouse of Azeda.
The Azeda lighthouse came into operation on June 6, 1940, at Quinta da Azeda. Initially, it was set up in a hut with uprights and a stay lantern, with fixed red light. It was 6.5 meters high and 72 meters high. The dioptric optics were of the 6th order and the luminous range of 8 miles. With the previous Doca Pesca light, it leads to Setúbal bar.
On December 31, 1940, he replaced the dioptric optics with an 8th order catadioptric dioptric and the range was increased to 10 miles.
On March 7, 1985, light passed to rhythm with the assembly of a sigma cell and an Edold eclipser.
In June 1999 the lighthouse started to be lit during the day.
As it was already difficult to see the structure during the day and even the light at night, due to the new constructions that were being built nearby and which made navigation very difficult, on October 3, 1996 a cylindrical tower was built, painted with stripes red and white 31 meters high and the lighthouse moved to this structure where it remains.
