This property classified as a Monument of Public Interest was built in 1643, performing combined functions with the Cadaveira Fort in the defense strategy of this coastline, marked by Praia da Poça and the mouth of Ribeira da Cadaveira.
Its structure did not undergo any changes until the 19th century, although it was partially rehabilitated during the Miguelista period. Dismantled and without garrison, it was transferred in the 19th century to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Cascais, to support the Baths of Poça, and in 1954 it was transformed into a Tea House.

The fact that there are two names for this fortification is due to the fact that it was baptized with the names of two of the heir princes of D. João IV: D. Teodósio (who died in 1653, aged 19) and D. Pedro II (who assumed the throne due to the physical and mental incapacity of his brother D. Afonso VI).
In 2016, the State put this property up for concession to private parties for a period of 30 to 50 years.
