The church of Nossa Senhora da Piedade was rebuilt and expanded in 1762, due to the damage suffered after the 1755 earthquake.

It is a building with a single nave, with a frescoed ceiling depicting the figure of Nossa Senhora da Piedade; the walls are covered, up to half their height, with blue and white tiles from the 17th century. XVIII. The chancel has a ceiling with a fresco symbolizing the Holy Spirit; main altar covered in gilded carvings where you can see images of saints, with emphasis on a wooden sculpture from the 17th century. XVII, representing the patron saint.

The façade shows a porched portal. This temple has good religious implements. The cult in the place of Piedade took place in the hermitage of S. Simão (there are references in 1616) and was dedicated to this Saint; in the century In the 18th century, that cult no longer refers to S. Simão, instead mentioning Nossa Senhora da Piedade.
It is known that in this religious building two pilgrimages took place: one carried out by the population of Coina, on the 1st Sunday of September, and another, by the inhabitants of Oeiras, on the 3rd Sunday of August.
At the beginning of the century In the 18th century, the brotherhood held bullfighting races at Terreiro do Paço, the benefits of which reverted to the cult of that Saint. In our century, after the emergence of the Republic, the temple was taken over by the State, to return, shortly afterwards (1916), to the brotherhood. In 1958, the parish of Nossa Senhora da Piedade was created.
