The parish church of Santo André has had its existence confirmed at least since the first quarter of the 16th century, when the Manueline style asserted itself in national constructions and left its mark on almost all the temples in the country: in this way, the former chapel of Santo André did not escape this rule either.

Description
Staggered longitudinal plan, comprising a narrower nave and chancel, adjacent to the sacristy on the right and the bell tower on the left, above the baptistery, access stairs to the high choir and pulpit and an outbuilding. Articulated volumes with differentiated coverage in a gabled roof for the nave and chancel and a gabled roof for the sacristy, dependence and stairs, bulbous dome in the bell tower. Main façade to the west with a stonework plinth and a single panel defined by corners painted in blue, topped by a polylobed gable delimited by a cornice painted in blue; curved lintel portal with a stonework frame with small ears and protruding key where the patera stands out, topped by a cornice, surmounted by a large curved lintel window with a stonework frame with a protruding key and small ears, topped by a cornice; to the left is the bell tower, slightly set back, with 2 registers, with a projecting mortar plinth, a panel defined by corners painted in blue divided into two registers by a painted mortar frame; the upper register is torn by an eyelet in a round arch with a mortar frame and topped by a painted cornice; bulbous dome topped by an iron weathervane resting on a painted mortar base. N. façade with the bell tower in the same layout as the main elevation, with a small partially covered window in the first register, with a painted mortar frame; access stairs to the upper choir with a panel defined by cornerstones and topped by a cornice and eaves at the top; it is torn by two tall windows, with curved lintel, crated, with stonework frames and a door with a stonework frame; dependency with a panel defined by cornerstones and topped above by cornice and eaves, torn by two windows, the first with a stonework frame and the second with a painted mortar frame, in the background rises the chancel with a panel defined by corners of painted mortar and upper finishing in cornice and eaves, torn by a window with a stonework frame. East facade with chancel with painted mortar plinth and a panel defined by painted mortar corners, topped by a polylobed gable flanked by mortar urns that crown the corners, crated window with a stonework frame; to the left is the sacristy, recessed, with a painted mortar plinth, a single panel defined by corners of painted mortar and finished in a gable, torn by a door with a mortar frame; to the right are the outbuildings with an identical layout to the sacristy. S. façade with a single-pane nave, defined by painted mortar corners, with a painted plinth and upper finish in painted cornice and eaves, side portal with a curved lintel, with a stonework frame with small ears, flanked at an upper level by windows crates of curved lintel with a stonework frame with small ears, sacristy with a painted mortar plinth and a panel defined by cornerstones, topped by a cornice and eaves above, torn by a crated window with a stonework frame; in the background, the chancel has a painted plinth and a panel defined by cornerstones and topped by a cornice and eaves, opened by a crated window with a stonework frame. INTERIOR: nave covered by a barrel vault starting from the cornice; high choir resting on two painted columns, protected by a painted wooden balustrade; to the right as you enter the stonework holy water font; on the side of the Epistle there is a side door, with a font of holy water on the left, flanked on the upper side by two windows, a side chapel set in a round arch, with a frame painted in blue with a protruding key, resting on pilasters with a stonework base , an altar table and stool in masonry and a round arched niche with a protruding key frame resting on pilasters; on the Gospel side, the baptistery portal stands out, under the high choir, in a three-lobed arch shaped like a twist, with artichokes hanging from the abutments, connected to the torus by a twist strap, crowned by a cogulho formed by a twist ring topped by a three pomegranates crowned by an artichoke, flanked by two coat of arms, the one on the left with the cross of Saint Andrew and the one on the right with the cross of Santiago, the arch is accompanied on the inside by a wreath of laurel leaves with twisted rings, it supports It consists of columns with turban capitals, accompanied by the garland and based on staggered truncated conical bases; pulpit with stone basin and wooden box, side chapel identical to the one on the Epistle side; perfect round triumphal arch with a stonework frame with a protruding key, supported by pilasters whose capitals are aligned with the cornice, flanked by side chapels placed at 45º, identical to those described. Main chapel covered by a barrel vault resting on a cornice, decorated with grisaille murals, the composition divided into four fields filled with a geometric pattern simulating relief stucco, with a rectangular medallion in the center with the image of Saint Andrew, next to the cornice a platband is simulated; main altar preceded by three stonework steps flanked by presbyteries, with masonry altar table and gilded and polychrome carved altarpiece with central dressing room in a round arch, with eucharistic throne, flanked by two overlapping corbels on each side, framed by pilasters, the arch is framed and framed by a composition of carved volutes and crowned by a painting in "grisaille", an allegorical representation of the "Faith" seated on a plinth flanked by volutes; a scale is suspended in the compartment behind the altarpiece; on the wall on the Epistle side there is an access door to the sacristy, topped by a window and a credenza niche in a round arch resting on cornices, on the Gospel side the identical scheme is repeated.
