Marquise of Alorna (1750/1839). D. Leonor de Almeida de Portugal Lorena e Lencastre, was a recognized poet and a woman with a vivacious and irreverent spirit. A descendant of the Távoras, D. Leonor was locked up in the Convent of Chelas, together with her mother and sister, where she would spend a long 18 years, due to the family's alleged links to the attack against King D. José.

Through the advice and guidance of his father, a man of notable culture, taught through extensive and extensive correspondence, he learned languages, especially Latin, French and Italian, studied Philosophy, Ancient and Modern History, dedicated a clear interest to Natural Sciences and, above all, he was able to obtain a careful literary education through his contact with a long series of figures, deeply influenced by the literary environment of Portuguese neoclassicism.

This is the case of Filinto Elísio, author of his poetic pseudonym: Alcipe. She dedicated herself to reading the French and Enlightenment classics, a fact that, without a doubt, will forge the literary and humanist personality of this unique woman in Portuguese culture.
