The Ribamar Palace is an 18th century building in Algés, built by the Count of Vimioso, D. Francisco Paula of Portugal. Today it houses the Municipal Library of Algés, the headquarters of the Oeiras Dance Center, the tourist office and the Municipal Gallery of Palácio Ribamar.

The palace later belonged to the Marquises of Valença and by inheritance to the Counts of Lumiar. In 1870 it was acquired by the Count of Cabral, passing to his heirs, the Counts of Foz. Over the years it had several owners and uses. In the years following the Great War, the casino "The Splendid Foz Garden" operated there, which later took the name of São José de Ribamar.
Closed in the 1930s, it was Hintze Ribeiro's holiday residence for a few years. The next occupation was a school, and in the 40s the headquarters of the Agricultural Hydraulic Board and finally a preparatory school. Acquired and recovered by the Oeiras City Council.
