AbstractHalo is a privacy layer for stablecoins unlocking the next private neobanks and applications that were blocked by the lack of anonymity and confidentiality of networks. Halo Network introduces a new extension a a privacy-preserving EVM chain purpose-built for stablecoin use cases. Halo combines the familiarity and composability of the EVM with the confidentiality of a UTXO-based privacy layer, allowing users to transact and build privately without sacrificing interoperability or liqui...

Musings on Price Discovery
Musings on Price discoveryWith a fading bull run comes the pressure to do a token generation event at high valuations because otherwise if you are a VC backed project with 8 figs in funding, you are cooked without a binance listing since you definitely know your tech is only valued at the number of CEX listings and shady market makers you can get for the launch. Jokes and criticism aside, I have been diving into the price discovery for a mix of work and my own interests in the past few months...

Just a tinkerer in this wonderful world
DAOs are emerging rapidly and everyone is finding that they are some of the best ways to coordinate for a shared goal without any hierarchies. As DAOs grow, it’s hard for newcomers and even the old members to stay active and have a good vision of the landscape and might feel disconnected, which is totally normal because DAOs are decentralized online communities which has its pros and cons. I have been in the DAO space for maybe 4 months now which is not a lot but have gathered some advice and thoughts on how to navigate this space.

One of the easiest and best ways to plug into a DAO is just to look around for opportunities to work and lend your hand for the tasks no one is much willing to take and iterate in that. DAOs are messy places with good-intentioned people who are just trying to find their own shit while rarely meeting the members in real life. There are always some things to be fixed and processes to tweak where no one looks because of the chaos. Look for the corners where you can make just a small impact and improve things a little and streamline the process. Maybe take notes during a call where not everyone is willing to do it, or just add some suggestions to the notion doc where the latest task is going on. These tasks to usually incremental, but they still add value to the DAO and others who come after you. When you try to help in small tasks consistently the outcomes are always bigger, communities are places where the whole is greater than the individual sum of parts. These small deeds show your commitment to the mission and the people. Don’t stop at one task and think you are done, you have to be consistent and always looking for new stuff to add your values to. Just being a lurker and lending your hand when needed gives you the best view and understanding of the space. Doing incremental little things here and there gives you a sense of how different operations come together to form the coherent place you are in.
DAOs are not smart contracts, they are humans and their interactions. A DAO is nothing if not its people and members. The biggest assets don’t lie in the Gnosis safe or Multi-sigs, but the Peer to peer connections formed between the people. it’s the people who give value and meaning to these technologies, so don’t be afraid to reach out and ask questions. Humans are one of the best resources and to tap into, you just have to show a gesture of politeness and reach out for chats and 1:1 talks. Most of the people are kind and are willing to spend 15 minutes with someone if they could share their ideas and thoughts with them. People say the most important things when listened to. Just asking for a small 15-minute call and being humble had led to some of the best conversations I ever had and are found that no matter how busy the person they are always willing to figure out a way to meet and greet with someone they think might value their ideas and time. Just a conversation with someone can help build lasting friendships and lead to serendipitous connections. Most of my collaborations have started this way and led to even better roles. Simple steps to build meaningful full connections:
Help them in a task or two.
Dm them and show your appreciation for their work
Ask for a small chat and be humble to them( try to fit in their schedule and be flexible)
schedule a call and show how much it means to you.
This one is kinda vague tension from the others two but has a huge impact on your role and future in the DAO. Being active in the chat and discussions is one of the important tasks. Just saying GM in the discord and sharing some resources you feel might help others go a long way. Show that you are present and are willing to talk to anyone. Be open for calls and taking tasks. Appreciate other people who deserve it because some people just need ta cheer to go ahead. Be a cheerleader or help find a partnership or onboard new people who could potentially have a good impact on the DAO.Engage in healthy Discourse and ask questions for better understanding. When others see you have some level of commitment, they will eventually reach out to you for better roles and things to work on. Share what you have learned so far and ask others what they have. Don’t overthink about posting if it’s a good idea because if it isn’t, it will just pass, but if it is, you don’t know the impact it could have.
It takes time to blend in and fit into communities and DAOs. For doing great things, you need to first do stuff no one is interested in. Everyone is looking for their call and trying to figure it out and everyone knows that they might not be doing the thing the best way but their vision is in a good place and that everyone will figure it out along the way. That’s why the Biggest slogan of web3 is We All gonna make it.
PS: Thank you, dear reader, for bearing me till the end, I hope it might help you in your web3 journey, and if you would like to show a gesture of appreciation buy me a book because books are the places where I find most of my ideas. here
