MadMen ecosystem’s greater vision is to help Web3 apps generate values to its users through monetizing Web3 transactions, engagements and interactions on-chain and cross-chain.
Here’s what’s happening: MadSlot — the biggest Web3 Impression Network under construction by MadMen.

So what is impression?
An impression is when a user sees a content. When a user opens a website or app and sees the content, then an impression is created. Impressions can simply indicate how many people have seen the content on a particular channel.
In the Web2.0 world, the number of impressions an advertisement generates is a popular metric for marketers to determine the advertising cost, generally charged on a Cost per Mille (CPM) basis, i.e. per thousand impressions.
In order to count impressions made and determine advertising effectiveness, marketers often refer to some kind of “analytics dashboard” provided by publishers or third parties which is really a black-box mechanism. In the Web3 world, however, MadMen offers a more innovative way for such needs.

In the MadSlot Impressions Network, audiences’ identities are ensured via holding MadSlot NFTs, meaning every single impression is made by a real audience. Advertisers on the other hand are also able to get an idea on the size of audiences they are marketing to, by referencing the total number of MadSlot NFT holders, recorded on the MadMen’s smart contract.
When contents recorded on IPFS are fetched and placed over publishers via a smart contract, audiences who hold MadSlot NFT will see such contents immediately when they open the MadSlot website, or over any other websites, apps that are integrated with the MadMen’s advertising protocol, and we call this “effective display”.

Unlike the traditional advertising model under Web2.0, after a MadSlot NFT holder has viewed an advertising content, i.e. an impression made, he/she will then need to prove he/she has done so by making a wallet signature, and we call this Proof of Impression (POI), which is used for reward (MadPoints) calculation and distribution under MadSlot’s View2Earn (V2E) reward program.

MadSlot is certainly much more than just V2E, the design of the POI model is also smart enough to handle audiences segmentation by assigning “traits” to individual wallet address as per their holding assets, NFTs, transaction patterns, etc., e.g. these holding blue-chip NFTs such as BAYC, CrytpoPunks and Doodles, or assets like BTC and ETH, or those who have been trading actively over DEX like Uniswap.
Advertisers have their own preferences on particular group(s) of audiences they aim to target under various campaigns, who are also generally willing to pay a premium for such purpose, hence audiences having diverse or quality traits could be better off in terms of getting higher reward.
Over subsequent updates, we will explain more around MadSlot’s V2E program, POI model and how traits could actually bring extra values to audiences, so stay tuned!
Above all, MadSlot, the biggest Web3 Impression Network, is truly connecting Web3 projects, communities and individuals, for them to impress, engage and get rewarded.
