NFT photographer searching for the beauty hidden in everyday life, started activities in December 2021. He has been taking photos based on street snapshots, in which reality and fiction are ambiguously intermingled, with the theme of moments with a blank space for imagination. His whole collections has a total volume of about 5 ETH in the ETH chain, and is currently trying to express himself in unconventional ways in photography, such as through collaboration.
I would like to inform you about the new collection "Ordinal Tokyo Fragments" that you are developing at Ordinals. I have challenged myself to create a new kind of photographic expression on Ordinals.
Ordinal Tokyo Fragments is a collection of 100 fragments based on a bird's eye view of Tokyo. The collection attempts to create an abstract expression consisting of the lines and shapes of each fragment of the Tokyo photograph and the orange that symbolizes Bitcoin’s meme. I hope that through the collection, visitors will enjoy what impression the divided and fragmented photographs give, and what impression the orange, which represents the meme, gives to the photographs.
The first time I inscribed in Ordinals was around March 2023. At that time, I was very honored to receive one photo, Inscription #250771, as an inscription. After that, I thought a lot about how to develop Ordinals with photos, but it didn't take shape...
Later, while witnessing the rise of Ordinals and BRC-20, I saw not only memes but also various collections of abstract art: Ordinal Pixels, AbstraOrdinals, Ordinal MIMI, Cords, ordinal pattern art labo, etc. There were a number of fascinating collections that were developed on the Ordinals on-chain.
I am a photographer, but I prefer abstract art expression, so naturally, I wondered if I could develop an abstract expression based on photography at Ordinals. This is a question I asked myself. This is a question I asked myself, and it is also a challenge I took on for this collection.
With this expressive theme in mind, I created the following form based on street snaps of Tokyo, which is my genre of expression. I worked on this project while exploring what kind of output I could create using the complex lines and shapes of Tokyo and the oranges of Bitcoin.
Photographs taken from the heights of Tokyo were selected. I selected the photo in which the architecture is particularly cohesive.
Black and white with two shades of gray
Black is replaced by Ordinals orange
Divided the photo into 100 segments (numbered from upper left to lower right)
Inscribe each of the divided photos
Unlike the overhead view of the entire photo, I feel that the division of the photo has completely changed the impression of the photo. I would be happy if this gives you a chance to appreciate the photos in a new way.
