As you may already know, the Account Abstraction (AA) topic has recently generated a lot of excitement within the web3 community. Many individuals are enthusiastic about the potential of this technology to greatly enhance the user experience of web3 applications.
In this inaugural week of Detached Digest, we will explore three cutting-edge concepts that leverage gamification, mental models, and skeuomorphism to enhance the user experience in Web3 applications.

As users, we often perform daily on-chain activities such as swapping, sending tokens, or minting NFTs. During these activities, we experience a specific timeframe where we must wait for our transactions to be confirmed. While some of us tend to skip confirmation modals and continue with other actions, this waiting period can sometimes bring up a range of emotions. We may experience FOMO, panic selling, or even feel excited when celebrating our on-chain achievements.
The proposed idea leverages four key aspects:
Utilizing the Dino-game model to manage unknown activity states, similar to how we all enjoy playing the Dino game while experiencing internet connection issues.
Building on iconic narratives around Web3 brands like Nouns and utilizing the CC0 license, which allows for endless design and development possibilities.
Incorporating gamification to improve user engagement by offering rewards for interacting with the product.
The more a user engages → the more they are rewarded → leading to increased product usage.
Addressing the pain point of gas fees, which remains a significant challenge for Mainnet users. With AA technology, apps can mitigate this issue by sponsoring future interactions.
Gamification appears to be an obvious choice for improving the product experience of web3 apps. By turning pain points such as gas costs into an opportunity for customer loyalty, web3 apps can greatly benefit from this strategy. With the emergence of Account Abstraction (AA) technology, the timing is ideal for leveraging gamification and utilizing AA to its fullest potential.

In my opinion, one of the best features enabled by AA is passive wallet management. For years, I've been dreaming of a decentralized "sell all" button, and this is just the beginning of the many possibilities that AA offers.
Apple has recently focused on improving our digital lives by introducing features that help us stay focused at work or unwind before bed. However, the crypto space is an industry that operates 24/7, and we are often overwhelmed by hard feelings. It can be challenging to detach ourselves from market dynamics, even when we're spending time with family and friends or taking a break from work.
The presented prototype aims to explore how AA can help wallets become a trusted friend that shields us from any market scenarios we might face.
The concept focuses on three key aspects:
Flexibility - Allowing users to create and customize scenarios to suit their specific needs.
Prevention - Offering predefined modes that are tied to market events to prevent users from making impulsive decisions.
Recursion - Enabling recursive actions such as "buy $100 of ETH every week" to automate repetitive actions.
Currently, web3 activity is a highly time-consuming process. It's like using a calendar app that doesn't send notifications for scheduled events, except in crypto, we pay a double cost of both time and sometimes money. However, AA is a game-changer that can automate actions and reduce the user's effort in managing their on-chain life.

Gas costs are critical for Ethereum and EVM chains as they affect user activity. However, I believe the way gas cost is presented to users has been undervalued and often relies on complex tools such as Etherscan. While many companies have attempted to provide mobile apps and desktop widgets for tracking gas, it seems that gas tracking has only been incorporated as general information displayed in every web3 app and wallet.
I find it amusing how weather apps and gas trackers share many similarities, especially considering how popular weather apps are in app stores. Gas can be a tricky concept to understand when interacting with blockchains, and there is a scarcity of mobile tracking tools in the space. Therefore, I believe there is room for a skeuomorphic gas tracker app that can provide details for sophisticated users while also easily informing newcomers whether it is a good time to make a transaction. It's like taking an umbrella when it's raining - but for transactions!
As the first week of Detached Digest comes to a close, we have witnessed the significant impact that AA can have on improving the UX of Web3 apps. Additionally, we explored how skeuomorphism can be utilized to abstract data complexity and help users better understand intricate concepts in the blockchain space.
