The On-Chain Gaming Thesis
We are on the cusp of a golden age of building decentralized applications on blockchains. The trailblazers of this revolution may surprise you – it’s not finance, venture capital, or NFTs. Instead, it’s gaming. On-chain games are video games whose state exists entirely on the blockchain. Their core code is written as smart contracts. In the past, cost and speed restrictions have disabled the development of on-chain games. Now, thanks to innovations in Dapp tooling, and fast, cheap layer 2 blo...
How to build on-chain games using MUD looking at Dark Seas
Building On-chain games is very challenging, from the initial design to the unpredictable potholes during production and testing. In this series of articles, we hope to illuminate the dark path of on-chain games and create a knowledge base for developers, using reference implementation of some of the most talented builders in the space. Today we will explore Dark Seas, created by 0xhank and presented on the 0xPARC Autonomous Worlds Residency. Dark Seas is a multiplayer strategy game in which ...

As we mentioned for our short-term roadmap, we think the top priority for Core Contributors is to produce some form of introductory content about on-chain gaming that we can publish on our Mirror.
It can be about the vision of on-chain gaming, a specific project you want to build, a technical specification about some tooling, etc. You can obviously cooperate if you already know that some people want to tackle the same things as you.
You can submit your posts in this section of the Airtable. We sent you invites to your provided email addresses. If you have trouble with the Airtable, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Here's a screenshot of what it should look like. You can simply add a new row with your name and submit a link to your post there.

Next up, a summary of the recent Core Contributor Call #1 can be read here. We actually recorded it, but a sound setting was off so we didn't catch the sound - sorry for that. Keep in mind this is already somewhat outdated, as you will see from the updates below.
1.) We published and invited you to an Airtable with a list of all Contributors and their skillsets/interests/affiliated projects.
You can start editing your entries and add or change any missing information. This also gives everyone a better overview over all involved members so it will be easier to organize ourselves.
2.) Join the DAO Constitution working group.
We have prepared two drafts - a short, straight-to-the-point mission statement, and a more fleshed out document which might become our DAO Constitution, so to speak.
You can find these documents linked in #dao-constitution. We can use this channel to discuss everything together - we want you to have a say and be involved - then edit accordingly and publish them on our Mirror. The channel will only be visible to Core Contributors for now.
3.) We will have a wiki where we document everything.
It's this GitBook - and it is very much WIP. We have lots of resources such as our Notion with relevant information that we'll work on feeding into this GitBook.
You can discuss and contribute to the GitBook in the Discord channel #gitbook-wiki.
4.) After everyone has gained a better overview over all Contributors and their interests/skillsets/roles, we can better organize the working groups.
We currently have working groups for:
Content writing/organization
DAO Constitution
GitBook Wiki
Primitives
VRF
Wallet UX
Standards/interop
zk tooling/math-physics
These can be expanded upon and re-iterated based on your skillsets, interests and contributions.
For example, we can further split them up into something like this:
Core dev (primitive x)
Writing team (wiki)
Writing team (content)
etc.
and give the corresponding roles in the Discord.
It would probably make sense to have a few people who can help coordinate these working groups - think product manager/CTO. If this is something you want to be involved with, please reach out!
