Cysic Secures $12 Million in Pre-A Funding Round Led by HashKey Capital and OKX Ventures Cysic, a leading zero-knowledge (ZK) hardware acceleration company, has announced the successful completion of a $12 million pre-A funding round. This funding round, spearheaded by industry giants HashKey Capital and OKX Ventures, aims to revolutionize the generation of ZK proofs by making it faster, more cost-effective, user-friendly, and decentralized.
The funding round also saw significant participation from top-tier investors such as ABCDE, Bit Digital, Coinswitch, IDG, Matrix Partners, Polychain, SNZ Holding, and Web3.com Ventures. Notable angel investors like George Lambeth, known for his early investments in Celestia, Arbitrum, and Avax, and Ken Li, Co-founder of Eternis, also contributed to the round.
Established in August 2022, Cysic has rapidly positioned itself as a pioneer in the ZK hardware sector with a bold mission: enabling real-time ZK proof generation. The existing challenge of sluggish ZK proof generation on a CPU has hindered the widespread adoption of ZK techniques. Drawing on its proficiency in ASIC design and GPU engineering, Cysic is committed to overcoming this obstacle by providing enterprise-level ZK compute-as-a-service for various ZK projects. Cysic's primary focus has been on developing specialized ASIC designs for instantaneous ZK proof generation. As highlighted in a recent blog post by Cysic, the adaptable zkVM-based ASIC design enhances its final offerings, ZK Air and ZK Pro. ZK Air, compact in size like a power bank or laptop charger, can be linked to laptops, iPads, or smartphones through a Type-C interface, thereby expediting ZK proofs. On the other hand, ZK Pro, similar to conventional mining rigs, is engineered to optimize ZK proof generation speed.
The capital raised in this funding round will be utilized to fortify the company's global expansion strategies, recruit new talent, and streamline hardware production processes.
