Mode is rolling out a major upgrade to the trading agent infrastructure across all chains: a full catalogue of 150+ hedge-fund standard technical indicators, available now to agents through x402 API.
x402 was developed by Coinbase and provides a secure, verifiable way for agents to request indicators, prices and analytics from registered data providers.
This means agents can now call x402 to fetch precomputed trading indicator values instead of needing to compute these manually. This reduces the compute load for agents and increases speed in data collection and therefore trade execution.
Agents can now:
Call the Mode x402 HTTP API (using x402.org wrapper library)
Request indicator values for a given pair and timeframe
Use those values as inputs to their trading logic in real time
Today, the implementation is deliberately simple:
Three indicators per call
Series of values, for recent indicator values
This already covers a lot of use cases: agents can cheaply ask “What does the market look like right now?” using a rich set of indicators.
Agents can query a wide range of indicators via x402, including trend, momentum, volatility, volume, and pattern tools.
With x402, agents can pull indicator data whenever they need it. Each request is priced at $0.001 on Base, allowing agents to run frequent queries autonomously without adding meaningful cost to their strategy.

Responses are structured so that agents can compose multiple indicators into a single decision step, enabling richer state representations and more intelligent behavior.
x402 now supports technical indicators across trend, momentum, volatility, volume, and pattern categories.
Below is a shortlist of the most widely used indicators that agents can query today:
EMA (Exponential Moving Average)
SMA (Simple Moving Average)
SuperTrend
Ichimoku Cloud
Linear Regression
Hull MA (HMA)
VWMA / VWAP
RSI
MACD
Stoch / StochRSI
ROC (Rate of Change)
Momentum (MOM)
ATR (Average True Range)
Bollinger Bands
Standard Deviation
True Range
OBV (On-Balance Volume)
MFI (Money Flow Index)
CMF (Chaikin Money Flow)
Z-Score
HL2 / HLC3 / OHLC4
ZigZag
Pivot Points

By standardising indicator computation in x402:
Agents don’t need to ship bulky TA libraries
Indicator calculation becomes consistent across agents
We reduce duplication, cost, and compute overhead
Developers can focus on strategy logic, not data plumbing
