As we expand the Mode network, part of our mission is to keep building more utility into the $MODE token beyond governance. This is the first addition to that utility. $MODE has transitioned to an omnichain asset, with the first networks we have expanded to being Ethereum and OP Mainnet. This is all powered by LayerZero's innovative Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard, which enables assets to exist on multiple chains.
This move increases $MODE’s accessibility across DeFi and is the beginning of a wider expansion. By leveraging LayerZero's infrastructure, $MODE can now be transferred and utilized across different networks without compromising on security or efficiency.
On Ethereum, $MODE can now be used as liquidity on Uniswap V3. On Optimism, Mode has partnered with Velodrome to launch new pools.
LayerZero, known for its market leading interoperability solutions, is at the core of facilitating $MODE's omnichain capabilities specifically through bridging solution Stargate, which is a project in the LayerZero ecosystem.
Bridge native USDC, USDT, ETH, BTC, and OFTs across 80+ blockchains with Stargate - the omnichain liquidity protocol trusted for $65B+ in secure on-chain transfers.
Users can now access omnichain $MODE through Stargate, this integration allows for seamless transfers of $MODE across supported blockchain networks. In the future, we will look to partner with more protocols and more networks to bring $MODE to even more corners of the DeFi ecosystem.
