Have you ever wondered why you’re unable to indulge healthily in your habits?
You’re lying on the couch one day, wondering what to do. You try to stop yourself, but you instantly go on your phone. Before you know it, you’re 2 hours over your 1 hour limit today. You wonder to yourself:
‘’Why do I keep doing this?!’’ It’s simple; you’re unable to moderate your habits in a healthy manner just yet.
‘’But why can’t I?’’ Here’s why.
You’re not spending enough time away from the activity you wish to moderate. You’re always looking for something to do, whether you think it or not. When your brain thinks there is nothing to do, it believes it’s free time and suddenly starts to fill the void with whatever it possibly can;
..which most of the time isn’t very good.
The simple solution? Fill your day with activities. You already know which ones I’m talking about. Really, you do.
You need to be more conscious about your decisionmaking. Excuses such as:
‘’Just one more!’’
‘’It’s been a while, I can surely enjoy it today!’’
‘’One won’t hurt.’’
‘’Come on! It’s just an hour!’’
are not excuses.
Your brain just wants that juicy sense of comfort and short term pleasure.
You need to make the decision to restrict yourself alot harder than you usually do. The longer you stay away from a bad habit, the more you will crave it until you eventually snap back to it.
You must make the decision to change your lifestyle for the time being.
When you know and truly believe you are at a healthy level (around 90 days after an unhealthy habit), that is when you can come back to it. Not 3–4 days after.
Don’t just quit a single habit for a week and instantly rubberband back after, you’ll simply just in the end lose all your progress. Instead, wait a good while before deciding you can truly come back to said activity without it damaging your overall health.
Don’t say you’ll scroll on social media for 2 hours today or just play video games for an hour. You won’t.

Your mental health Mental health is far more important than you think. Seriously.
Having poor mental health from working or sitting in a classroom takes a toll on your overall mental health and can prevent you from reaching your full potential.
Without mental health, your brain will try and muffle the bad feelings with short-term pleasures to satisfy you.
Think about it; why do people with poor mental health always resort to substance abuse, alcohol, or whatever other dopamine bombs they desire?
They want to take their minds away from reality for a short moment.
If you have poor mental health, you seriously need to consider that before changing literally anything.
You won’t be able to do anything if you have a crappy mindset or poor motivation or terrible focus.
Improving your mental health is a bit of a tough subject, but here’s the best advice I can give you:
Change your overall lifestyle. This means diet, schedule, daily activities, decisions, and overall just what you do in life.
Work towards what you know works best for you. If you don’t trust someone else’s advice, don’t. Trust your gut.
And those are the three reasons why you’re unable to healthily indulge in an activity. Mental health, decisions, and inability to fill the void with new activities all tie in to give you the bad habits you knowingly indulge in today.
Anyway, get off this article. You’re done reading and know what to do. No, no STOP. What are you doing, don’t click on that artic-
